along with most people from here I dragged myself over the Essex arena with a shopping list. came away with several items in the "want" list . also means I can sell off our existing parts that have now been swapped out for more period or suitable parts will be offering the old lights here first before ebay got a single wiper for £35 which is about the going rate. the guy there said to run it minus the arm for a while as they take a while to loosen up? ?? always do what I'm told so have done just that. turns out theres a nice mounting area where the hinge is for the pop out window hinges so i'll have a measure up.........and then another and another just make sure and we will hopefully have a wiper. the peep mirror looks ideal on the door(although its on the ns ) and just needs a grub screw as one is missing. the tank weighed a ton, worse thing about lakeside is having to carry stuff back out to the car park....... anyway , the rear lights have stop and tail bulbs in so I'm hoping the socket will be the same . they also fit perfectly onto the original mounting rear on the cars rear. been thinking and now the boots full, we may oik the rear seat out and just panel the area and trim to match the interior. that way we can mount the battery in the back along with whatever else my son fancies in there. due to the narrow interior up front the proton pedal box we got fouled on the steering shaft. I tool the go pedal off a while back and luckily nabbed this floor mounted jobbie at the swap meet so hopefully that's that sorted. got new lights with dipped, main and side light bulbs in which mean our older and larger ones are surpluss. the bonnet just doesn't sit right so that's gona be sold off and I will look for a morris 8 one. planning to run front wings, bonnet and no sides if all goes well. exciting vid first pic drop second lined up the front wings to match the rears to see how they will line up rear lights although the indicators wont be going on.may sli[ them into the front end somewhere...........maybe not though stand alone go pedal the bottle opener is going to be fitted on the outside of the car somewhere.......just because

WOW, picture heavy thread. Things are shaping up I see.Really liked the mirror, but was it only for the passenger side? This is really a mix and match car, will be interesting to see the end result.

The mirror is for the drivers side but that doors held closed with a welding clamp so losely stuck it on the passengers side to see what it looked like. More pics tomorrow from todays tinkering. Really need a pair of triumph rear shock absorbers and a boot lock now.

Looking good, I'm sure I have the same model steering wheel in my garage, I got it when I had my Triumph Toledo but it never fit, never did find out what brand it is.

thanks all finish date is ..................whenever its finished really. desperately trying to get my Granada on the road this year, its been garaged since October 2014. ive got a day off work in a couple of weeks to get EVERYTHING done lol..... my son just turned 13 so we have 4 years before he can drive it legally so that gives us plenty of time to finish the body and source an engine etc. we will try to upholster the interior ourselves and the body will stay ratty so no expensive paint job to worry about. I recon we could be done in as little as two years but he needs to understand how it all works as this will be the last car I do and he will have to maintain it.. the Granada wont be changing at all either, just a yearly service and driving, no more rebuilds.this will be the last "finished " for that too.its exactly how I wanted it so I'm happy, its only taken 24 years to get there..... if the rods finished before he can drive,it may be used(for road test purposes only) as my daily through the summer months, just for checking driveability and niggle hunting of course. no idea what the steering wheel is called,it was part of the deal I made for the chassis.teh chassis had been converted from a tasty vitesse into a gentry which isn't really my kind of kit car if I'm honest. we sold off all the kit car parts to the gentry register folk (always offer stuff to people who are more likely to appreciate it than the ones with the most cash). a guy came and took the four wings, rear scuttle and something else but I can remember what it was though. I posted him the original build manual too a few weeks later when I found it. hands still not right so didn't get much done except make a model volcano for my sons homework and fitted the "not actually required for an mot" wiper kit. ive been told that as the front screen opens, a wiper isn't a legal jobbie??? pretty sure a reversing light isn't either and that although would keep the rear end ratty, I thing we will have a rear fog on one side in the go faster holes in the rear lower valence and a reversing light in the opposite side one just for good measure. turns out that the wipers required location matched with the windscreens hinge bracket mounting plate so there was actually something to bolt onto. tis running slowly as I was using a battery charger to run it and that was set at "slow charge" welder was almost delivered yesterday but UKmail decided not to call me despite having my mobile number, didnt leave it with the neighbours and the card they left had no phone number on it??? as I don't have a computer except at work that makes for a pretty angry afternoon. gonna try and find their depot. pointless using a delivery company if you have to go to pick it up from them? anyway..... vid first

sadly it needed a few things doing ie oil leaks and a rewire of the lights. then to make things awkward a year of saving and selling off spare parts I got a NOS kit and that sat for ages until I could afford the bits it needed as it came as a bare bones kit. sold off most our car parts stash now and also sold off a few "in progress" projects too. I have almost all the required bits for the Granada now including ,longer diff bolt, steering column shroud bolts, kill switch panel ,the replacement headlight connector plugs ( a banger racer mate gave em to me for free). hoping that the last engine bay mods will get me to 160 bhp at the rear wheels and no oil leaks. the NOS kit adds 50 bhp to the rear wheels which will be as much as the rest of cars components will be up to . there's a potential feature pending on the car when its out on the tarmac so it needs to be spot on.

a trip to the main depot later and i've now got my welder. hopefully we will be back in business tomorrow. needs to finish the ns door and also start patching the boot area. new mig runs gas or gasless so will use up the last two rolls of gasless wire and then try it the grown up way . got more settings on this than my last one and being a real brand instead of some Chinese "assembled by a six year old" one, I should have no issues getting parts for it. came set up for gassless yet came with a roll of gas wire??? like buying a diesel car and getting a months worth of free petrol may of found some bonnet snouts too so watch this space..

Oh we are happy with the new welder.so much smoother than the last one.the hooligans been finishing the ns door that was left in bits when the old welder broke.he patched the rear arch and started on the rear valence too
altered the vid now. we cut down the spare valence we had laying around and will make a sunvisor from it .....well that's the plan anyway

thanks mate finish early today so will try to get the front sorted. sills will need sorting but I need more steel for that. 2 x 5 feet long 3mm thick flat bar I recon. heres the 4 indicators we have. they also have a built in running lights facility which is cool. can only use em in that way up front but that's ok. toying with a flip front silly idea but...................................
