Dunno, but that P38 is the same spec as mine and at 400 dabs would make a brilliant parts car (apart from the lack of EAS) but... "May not post to Philippines" kills the deal for me! Bloody ebay sellers.

Hi, They are probably hacked accounts and they want you to ring them instead of going through the ebay message system. The mobile is also probably a pay as you go and will be ditched once they have your money.

So they hope people will cough up money for a "bargain" without seeing it 1st and try and do it multiple times and no one actually gets it?

If it's too good to be true and all that...
I've heard of it around my way where they advertise something that's going through a bit of a fad, usually BMW or Mercedes coupes or some kind or lavishly unnecessary SUV and are advertised incredibly cheap and insist that it's sold for cash only and they'll pick them up from the station.
Yup you've guessed it, poor unsuspecting Mr Chump turns up with a pocket full of wedge and ends up with a long walk home with a bruised ego and empty pockets.

Ok that makes better sense of how it would play out, thanks.

Other option is that the seller will be suddenly called away on business up country, but a friend of theirs will deliver it for you- just transfer us a deposit and a token £50 for the delivery and I'll sort the rest, mate. No worries.
Obviously that doesn't earn you as much money but it does eliminate the possibility that the bloke you meet at the station with his pocket of cash hasn't also decided to bring a couple of really big friends along just in case.
I enquired about a Land Rover that I'd seen for sale previously, presumably didn't sell and was readvertised at an appealing but just about plausible price. I wanted to go look but the seller was "in Scotland, but I can sort out delivery for you if that's any help?". Erm, no ta. I reported it and it was pulled (Gumtree), a few days later the actual seller readvertised it at a more realistic but still agreeable price so I managed to buy it after all- after viewing!

That's an odd case but makes total sense. I often wonder if the actual owners of these cars are aware at all.
My thoughts are if they're prepared to try and rob someone of their hard earned, they're probably vastly prepared but as you say, robbing a couple of grand off of a guy over the phone is far easier.
Of all things I once had it with a dog, yep, a hound. I was looking for a Rottweiler, I found some very locally and made a call. They are advertised in the same town, but in the phone the chap said he was from glasgow and that he would have the puppie couriered down to us if we made a direct bank transfer.
I called the guy out on it, it was obviously a scam as clear as day and he ended up hanging up on me, advert reported and no harm caused this time. For the amount of these to be floating around there has to be a reasonable amount of people falling for them.

If i see them from now on (and i have seen a couple more since starting this thread) i will contact the seller thru the ebay system and tell them their account has likely been hacked. They can then pull the ad quicker if it is bogus.
