1970 Trabant 601, Tax exempt, fully uk registered and owned by me for over 10 years.
However due to lack of use, (200 miles in the last year) i have decided to let it go.
It passed its MOT 15/09/2016 so best part of a year left.
insurance is dirt cheap at approx 100 quid for fully comp'
I completely rebuilt the car over a period of 3-4 years, engine (two stroke) gearbox, suspension, complete brake system, etc were all done. the seats are Hyundai (of some kind) in front with the rear seat a combination of Hyundai and Trabant - much better than it sounds! Tyres are all good with plenty of tread (could do with balancing)
The car runs and drives as it should do, the freewheel in top works too.
NOW THE BAD BITS....
#1 The timing could do with checking as it sometimes pinks a bit (if the weather holds up i will do it, however, on top of the weather, i only see an hour or so of daylight when i get home from work - poor excuse i know but i cant get in my garage!!)
#2 There is no headlining in the car, i tried making one but messed it up and ripped it out again!
#3 The paintwork - whilst respectable - has been touched up here and there. it wont win any concourse comps'
#4 in the MOT this year, it was pointed out that there was a bit of rust showing on both outer sills. i have done one side but not had chance to do the other. (this is hardly anything - not serious- but obv' needs doing before it gets worse)
OK, i can't think of owt else, the eagle eyed amongst us may have recently seen this on E*ay, there were 70 odd watchers, a few questions and not one person turning up to view it (even after arranging to do so).
ASKING 1700 QUID ONO, i don't really want any swaps but may be interested in px against a usable citroen c15 van.
not sure if my pictures have loaded?? i can email more photos if anyone wants some. CAR IS LOCATED IN WIGAN LANCS.
Thanks for the advert.
message me on here please or call 07504976426 (before 9pm please) cheers STEVE
