Up for sale is my lovely Jaguar XJ6 Series 3 4.2.
Bought for some summer fun and just because I wanted it, it's now time to move it on to a caring new owner before winter hits. I drive it daily and it's kept outside...and it deserves better. Not that it isn't perfect for the daily commute, it's quiet, comfortable and easily keeps up with modern traffic. The heater works amazingly well too, so it's a nice place to be.
The bodywork looks really nice, door bottoms, headlight peaks, rear valance etc are all beautiful, the only dodgey bits are a couple of small bubbles on the front and rear edge of the roof, and a bit (strangely) on the top of the rear doors. Theses are small though and as you can see in The pictures it cleans up really well and looks good. It's Russett brown, which may put some people off but I think it's a brilliant period colour.
Mechanically, it's really nice. Starts well, brilliant oil pressure and temps, brakes as it should and drives well. Being fuel infected it is smooth, powerful and you have the peace of mind that it'll start when you need it to. There are NO knocks, clunks or bangs as you drive along and you could be forgiven for thinking you're in a much newer car. 4 brand new tyres have been fitted too.
Underneath is spot on, no patch welding and none needed, even the handbrake works.
The interior is a nice place to be, and smells like an old Jaguar should...leather and wood - No damp smell here! There is a little wear on the driver's seat, and the headlining is sagging a bit, but for the most part it's really nice and wouldn't take much to be spot on.
Mileage shows at 84000 and I have some stamped history up to 56000 and some MOT's to back this up. It's MOT'd for 9 Months.
All in all its a really nice example of a quite rare car, capable of driving anywhere and doing anything, that can be tinkered with, and is only going up in value.
Any questions please ask, I'm in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
