I have Just Enquired For a quote of 6 litres of 2k Solid Ford imperial Maroon ( Pro Spray Brand ) and Was surprised to Receive a quote of £83 .. To Me this sounds far to Cheap .. I am Currently Looking For a Good quality 2k Paint That will last out So any Opinions on Pricing and Brands Would be appreciated
The quote I Received was from Jawel paints which I Understand is quite well known

Lechler are meant to be pretty good. The price sounds about right. You can add more for thinners, primer and lacquer on top though...
Years ago when I looked into painting the MGB myself I was looking at £220 and that was 7 years ago for a basic colour.

I've dealt with Jawel paints for many years and never had a problem.
But no matter what (or whose) paint you use, red colours will fade/bleach without regular attention and much wax.
The ONLY exception I have found to this is a one pack acrylic paint that I used on my Signal Red GT6 when I sprayed it in 1986 (that paint came from Jawel too) 5 or 6 years years of neglect later, when I sold it, it was still shiny and the same shade as it started. The name of the stuff escapes me and I couldn't even say if it's still being made. If my memory starts working again (don't hold your breath) i'll post it. It wasn't particularly expensive, though the thinners was, and it was very easy to work with.

make of it what you will
i had this convo years back with our rep from a big expensive paint company on why his paint was so dear vs the no name 2k from the local place
what he said was that if we had a colour matching issue or the paint peeled off , then theres help on the phone , we can send in samples to be matched and they will send him out to sort any problems and pay to put right any issues caused by thier gear , the cheap no name stuff doesnt include this
our take was if you don't need the back up its 99% the same stuff ....for a diy'er no one is going to come out and help you if it all goes wrong , we often ordered in the cheaper stuff and had zero issues with it

Their paint isn't best, but their primers are good and they're easy to work with. The price sounds about right to me and you won't go wrong with Pro Spray. Pro Spray is a good, quality mid-range paint and Pro Spray is part of Valspar.
