Hi everyone,
Following the purchase of my XJR, I've reluctantly got to put my '40 up for sale. Text copied from eBay below -
Regretful sale of my XJ40, I just don't have space to keep her following purchase of an X306 XJR.
I bought the car in February this year and she's been very reliable. Drives really well, super smooth, no crashing or banging from the suspension. Doesn't overheat, oil pressure good even when hot. Puffs a bit of blue smoke on start up, especially when she's been standing for a week or two, but clean once running. I've owned half a dozen XJ40/X300 Jags (and driven even more!) and this one is really superb to drive.
Exterior is very presentable, usual array of dings to be expected with a 25 year old car, nothing too unpleasant. Bubbling on arches coming through. An odd rust spot on the roof. The undertray at the front of the car is hanging low, my mum accidently pulled it off driving over a low kerb. Cheers mum. I've put it back up as best I can.
Interior is really clean, leather is in great condition. Minor wear to driver's seat, but no tears or rips. Everything works as it should do, even the air conditioning! Still has the original stereo in place too.Electric aerial is stuck in the up position.
Just went through the MOT easy enough, only needed a washer pump and a lightbulb. MOT runs to October next year. Advisory on offside outer sill panel corrosion - see the pic. This is the worst of the bodywork by the way.
Mileage is 101,528. This will go up as my mum is using the car daily at the moment (I won't let her drive the XJR).
I really love this car and it's gutting to have to sell her. But I live in North London, have off street parking for one car and already have the 205 in storage. To be honest, I'd rather sell the car to someone on here for less than I might make on eBay that'll enjoy her and take a bit of care of her.
If you're interested, drop me a PM.
