You've actually got me in trouble now with my friend who is building a 40's truck. I'm desperately trying to find a more recent quote where I then say I've been reassured that dressing up is not obligatory. *digs, digs, keeps digging, looking for sunlight*

Theatre professionals. Also with the blue ATF. Hey Mark... another quick question. It's about kick down... So the seller of Camino said 1st gear takes me to 20mph and 2nd to 40mph and then its third gear from there on. So does that information also mean that kickdown will only occur below 40mph so that second gear is activated? Is there where yours shifts? I'm just trying to figure out this auto business. Not as straightforward as that. Seller had speeds wrong (unless he was making you play safe). I have a high stall converter so mine shifts very hard under power (cos it has BLOO BLOOD dontcha know!!) but ragging it round Goodwood I left it in 2nd gear to have some engine braking. This let me top out at about 80+mph, dropping it into drive took it to 110mph before the corners got a bit near for skinny front tyres. Kickdown will only work at full throttle (foot to floorboards) and 'ought' to work up to around 70% max speed of 2nd gear - this is an elastic speed though - hence the 'ought' I would guess that kickdown should work up to approx 50mph, after that the engine will have to do all the work.

Okay, brilliant. Thanks Mark. Some good info to work with.

Ah, misread the seller speeds.
He meant in drive under normal conditions thats where it will shift, which is about right.

Ah, misread the seller speeds. Isnt Seller Speed a flappy paddle option on Alfa Romeos?

Just looking through another thread and this quote hasn’t aged well... “I had a good look over the Napier Railton up-close at Goodwood FOS around 2012, and that was really like a bit of hardcore steampunk British hotrod. From that point on I found myself losing my strong desire to drive around in American retro metal. Its just imported culture that doesn't really work on our roads if you get past the initial spectacle... Particularly when people have 50's stepsides and it means they are almost forced to dress like an extra from the waltons in order to drive it.” I wonder who could’ve said this??? You've actually got me in trouble now with my friend who is building a 40's truck. I'm desperately trying to find a more recent quote where I then say I've been reassured that dressing up is not obligatory. *digs, digs, keeps digging, looking for sunlight*

Let's be honest... I failed to fit the wing. I got the wing hanging on, but I couldn't finish the job until you came back with fish and chips and then gave me a hand.
And by 'and then gave me a hand' I mean... fitted the wing for me while I played rabbits.

I think we should all vote to ban NudgerSS from the Naughty Corner forever. He's just here to cause trouble. You can tell by his avatar picture. It's obvious just by looking at his face. Just like how that bloke selling that black Dodge could tell just by looking at my face that I wasn't going to throw him £1000. He just took one look at me, and knew instinctively I wasn't a halfwit. Despite all the evidence to the contrary. By the way SmokeEm , he's still advertising that Black Dodge. Are you sure your mate bought it?

Positive - He's been trying to find go faster goodies for the 318ci lump.
I've also seen a picture of it on his driveway.

Take the lead block out for a blast, you will soon feel better. You could use some of the scim money to fit electric cut outs in the exhausts - open headers FTW Open headers are very good anti depressants I took the Camino for a jog across Sussex to Elky's place. Once there, I did some helpering, ate fish & chips, and tricked Sally into eating stones. I am the sort of person who hoped thought* this was someones child.

Either that or he wants people to call him so he can say "I haven't got that one now but I do have...." Yes, if he’s paid for an ad, he’s likely to let it run if it can help him sell another car.

The boat bars came off. The lines of the car are so much nicer without them. Unfortunately whoever put them on didnt do a very good job of drilling and tapping the holes, and didn't add any kind of gasket. So what is revealed when the bars are off is quite an ugly mess. (Last pic is just a snap of my vinyl gasket and a few screw heads)
