A widely acclaimed Peugeot 405GR with just 27,847 miles and two owners.EQUIPMENTBodyside mouldings with bright insert, bodyside tapes, power assisted steering, laminated windscreen, bronze tinted glass, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, electric front windows, digital clock, roof console with map reading lamp, ski flap boot access, locking glovebox, Clarion 97001E 6 Speaker stereo cassette, retractable aerial in rear wing, tachometer, brake fluid level and pad wear indicator, intermittent wipers, washer jets mounted on wiper arms. Factory options; Rear spoiler. EXTERIORA stylish design by Pininfarina, this Phase 1 Peugeot 405GR is finished in optional Aztec Gold Metallic (code M0CN) and is in exceptional order with a bright polished finish and only minimal faint blemishes. A tiny shallow ding to the front offside wing and very light scratches to the bumper plastics are worthy of mention but do not detract from the excellent overall appearance. Etched glass and lights as well as supplying dealer number plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted to further uphold the originality. Classic chic lines from Peugeots design heyday to truly take your breath away! INTERIOR The sumptuous and immensely comfortable interior is typically ‘of the era’ from French manufacturers with large soft seats and plush upholstery. The Chatsworth Beige velour upholstery is virtually perfect owing to the amazingly low mileage covered. There are no rips or wear to the bolsters whatsoever, and the carpets, headlining and door cards have been very well preserved. The fascia and switchgear are as new and the original Clarion 97001E stereo cassette remains fitted. A spotlessly clean boot area has manufacturer stickers and markings still present and no luggage damage. A spacious modern classic interior, brilliantly cared for and ready for family classic car outings. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe four cylinder 1905cc engine develops 110 BHP at 6000rpm to offer spritely performance whilst achieving a top speed of 118mph and 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds. The remarkably clean engine bay remains exactly as intended and displays factory stickers, plates and panel stampings. The five speed manual transmission offers light and direct changes with crisp clutch action. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe wheels remain fitted with the factory original full wheel covers, all number plate etched and just one displaying slight damage. The 185/65 R14 tyres have plenty of tread remaining, two of which are the original and desirable Goodyear Eagle NCT 2 items. The twin circuit diagonally split braking system features front discs and rear drums to offer straight and steady stopping power. HISTORY FILESupplied new on the 4th September 1990 by Peugeot Main Agents, Henly’s of York, this wonderful example has covered just 27,847 miles from new with only two keepers. The first keeper was Mr Stanley Barnes who owned the car for over 25 years! Upon his passing, the vehicle was rescued from long term storage and purchased in 2015 by Mr Graham Waller of Club Peugeot UK. His desire to cement a positive future for the car and to ensure its longevity, he embarked on a process of recommissioning this low mileage example including a service, cambelt, water pump and brake overhaul, all evidenced with invoices. The history file further consists of the dealer supplied Peugeot wallet containing all handbooks, operating guides and point of sale literature. The service record book contains five stamped entries, the most recent being July 2016 at 27,492 miles. Furthermore, the history file contains some invoices and previous MOT certificates along with two keys and an original Peugeot 405 sales brochure. A very capable modern classic Peugeot with low mileage and low owner credentials clear to see. MOT May 2017, HPI Clear. Wasn't this on eBay for a grand less? Expensive pictures! Hi SteveP Thank you for your observations. As far as we were aware the car was only advertised on classiccarsforsale and for more than £1295! We will stand corrected and if you can provide the link we would be most grateful.

To be fair they probably paid £1500 and will no doubt take £2000 for it so a £500 profit isn't really beyond the realms, after all switching those 5000w lamps on and constantly painting the white studio up won't come cheap !!!! No doubt will say sold then mysteriously reappear in 6 weeks time for £2000 Ono.

Some people here do seem to have a problem with dealers making a profit. The thing is, if you don't think the car is worth the money, don't buy it. At least KGF is honest about being a dealer, and not pretending to be a private seller. He has spoken to me at shows, and expressed an interest in buying a couple of cars I've owned, and is always upfront about buying it to sell through the business, unlike some other classic car dealers out there.

I don't understand negative comments about profit for traders, it's a buisness to earn money from profit why is it hard to understand. I've never purchased or know of them personally however they are car traders so if the car was advertised at 1695 a trader would add money to the purchased price for profit. The profit is the bread and butter just like most people who go to work which is to earn money

I find it hard to understand as well,as said above they are in business to make a profit they no doubt have overheads for premises and valeters to pay etc etc. They have extra responsibilities as a business seller that probably bites them occasionally too, they can't just say " sorry guv sold as seen" if something goes badly wrong shortly after sale. I had a go at selling used motors as a business and it's far from easy money.
If nobody bought anything because someone else was making profit we would all be walking around buck nekkid and starving.

Seems to be more and more moaning on here these days when it comes to people selling cars. It's a shame as it just puts people off from advertising their retro's on here. It's all very boring.
GLWTS guys, looks like a nice car.

Thanks for the varied comments guys, we love to hear peoples viewpoint either way. Finding these classic cars and bringing them to market is enjoyable and often difficult in equal measures, it's certainly not a sedate 9-5 affair! We're very lucky to work with a variety of wonderful classic cars and long may it continue.
