As I seem to have started looking at avradio for my van i thought id have a look at the old radio I took out.
Its a pioneer ke4300.
Looks ok.
So I thought id google the model number. Its from 1980 and it turns out its what ferrari put in their late 70's cars and it seems to have been pretty high end for its day.
No good to me though.
Anyone know anything about them? Worth anything?

eBay it. It is probably worth a bit. Not loads. Or it might be. These radios are selling for more and more these days. Have a look and see if any have sold recently to give you an idea on what people are paying. It's a nice looking unit.

Proper Ferrari versions had a little prancing horse emblem on the front and make mega money. It will sell though, someone had one up for £120 on ebay.

I like how the tuner looks like an analogue needle and string affair but actualy its all done with tiny led's.
15 presets too.
If only my vans owner had waited a couple of years and bought a cdx1 instead!

I have no mp3 player or music on my phone. I can bluetooth music from youtube but other than that I'm cd (when in the car) bbc6 music on dab or vinyl at home.
I could get add ons and plug them all into this, have cd players, add on dab etc and just use this as an amp but it will get cluttered and ultimately wont do a good job.
Unfortunately its best off going and ill buy something awful looking and modern.

I have seen these go for £200+ on ebay. I used to fit them when I worked in car audio in the eighties. Very good cassette deck but, like most Pioneer sets of that time, a pretty poor radio.
You just need to find someone restoring an early XR3 and you'll be minted!!

Just get a Bluetooth cassette adapter about £30 quid off the bay of evil.
I had one of these in my first company car, an Orange Chevette estate, ooooh nice.....
