*SORTED* I know it's a long shot, but I'm looking for an old Wolf Sapphire 70 corded drill, not functioning no problem. I tried to press out the rattly bearings on mine when the plastic "gearbox" housing cracked beyond repair. (Not mine, borrowed Google picture.) I've also seen Sapphire 72, 73 and 74 drills on Google images, they will probably do the job as well if they have the same plastic housing (anyone know what the differences between these drills are?). Must be cheap for the repair on mine to be economical, otherwise I'll go on the hunt for a very good replacement Sapphire to fit my Wolf drill stand.

A little research shows I can only use a Sapphire 70, other Sapphires are a different design front section. If you have a good working Wolf Sapphire 70 drill I'd welcome that as well, I'd love to keep working with this type of drill. I have a vintage Wolf 110V drill that I'm happy to swap, I can probably find a chuck with it as well: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222235688426?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Result! The cord is a bit sticky, but it's otherwise as good as new. It even came with a brochure, the manual and the 1968 invoice; including postage I paid just a few quid more than it originally cost. If someone has a broken Sapphire 70 for parts I'm still interested, I just can't throw my old one out.

Ooh, that takes me back. I remember the Wolf 110v in the pics above - my old man used to bring it home from work when his Wolf Cub gave up the ghost.

The metal one has now gone. I also had a Cub, a great little machine, I donated that to a tools for Africa project with a box full of vintage Black & Decker drills after cleaning and fixing them all.

I have this and it's no good to me if you are in need. Seems to have stopped working but the flex doesn't look great so might just be that. Sent from my toilet using proboards

That has been part of a valve seat grinding set, do you happen to have the rest as well? If so, I would definitely fix it/ get it fixed and keep it complete if I were you. I have no need for it, but if the alternative is you bin it I'm definitely interested, these old beasts are a joy to restore.

I don't have any more bits for it. Just the drill/tool itself. It's been in my garage for nearly 20 years and I've never needed it.

Yes, that was a while ago but I appreciate the heads up. Found one on eBay in the meantime, also in the original box and working faultlessly, so I'm sorted for now.
