Three pipes suggest it's off a six cylinder car I was thinking of something like a Datsun 240z. Could be off a V6 though something like a Early Capri. Is one of the pipes a smaller diameter though ?

I did myself work out it should be for a v6 and we'll spotted!it does have one smaller diameter pipe! Unfortunately it's not capri as I have a car to go against.
Thanks for the help so far

Seems odd to have three pipe manifold coming down to join another section of three pipes terminating in one .

And i presume its a v6 from it lay out .Doesnt leave to many cars . V6 fords either colgne or essex . Everything else from that period is pretty much straight 6 isnt ?

Hi, The different sized pipes suggest to me that the two larger ones are from siamesed ports and the smaller one from a single. So could it be from a five pot motor. Mercedes have an arrangement on theirs where two sets of exhaust ports are close together and a single one. All this sort of says it's to mate up with a Janspeed manifold specifically, but usually when they do manifolds it's to mate further down to the exhaust system as a big single or twins. Very curious.

Hi, Just had another thought, unless it's from a turbo application and the smaller one is from the waste gate.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm still baffled myself to what it is from... i've been searching the internet for a whole 2 hours and got know where :/ . the reason i'm so desperate to find out is because i have that many parts and some i'm assuming is difficult to get hold of, so if i start all my items at £5 a piece on ebay it gives everyone who is desperate for that part a chance to win it, instead of slapping high figures on parts like most do. sorry if i'm being a pain, but there will be some more parts guessing games coming in the near future ha ha

Found some pictures of Mazda rotary manifolds and some seem to have a smaller centre pipe.

I clear car parts regularly so i know what your facing, i still have 300 air filters to sort after the 600 odd gasket sets lol IF they have a part number i use (below) to ID the item or it's trawl through online catalogues for hours www.autopartoo.com/oem/intermotor/44560fgx.html

If you give up and don't sell it your not making anything though TBH i start with the easy to ID parts and save the mystery parts for when i'm bored and have time on my hands, some items i've spent months IDing but that's usually pre war stuff, i ID'd a pair of wooden gun carriage wheels i got in a garage clearance, with nothing to go on appart from the auction ticket (sold off in 1968 at a surpluss auction) took me 19 months but i did it, passed them on to somone who really wanted them and made a few bob into the bargin, i get a kick out it though especialy WWII stuff i find/get offerd.

haha stop tempting me to go back to the exhaust :') you are right though! i just said to my dad i'll leave some of the harder items until last... which seem to be a lot so far haha. i have a good few pre ware items like door handles and lock mechanisms. I have to admit, it is rather exciting finding out what a part is, after spending so long bashing your head up the wall but i feel the main aim of the game, is getting that long lost and most wanted part to someone at a reasonable price "ebay auction"
