After such a great show on Sunday, and meeting some top people, I thought I'd introduce myself.
I was the owner of the Red RS Turbo in the paddock area, which after talking to people, seemed to be the centre of a little confusion. After talking to a few people who had seen the Facebook post it may have seemed that I came across quite arrogant and that I thought my car was "too good to park in the field" I just wanted to clear the air by saying this wasn't the case.
After getting my old 1982 XR3 stuck in the mud at Huntington Racecourse which resulted in a damaged rear panel and back box, I've been cautious about off road parking if I'm unfamiliar with the venue. That, and the fact that this is was the first outing I've had in the Escort after an 8 year build (yes, 8 years!) and the underside is just as important to me as the exterior, I really didn't want to do the car any damage or run into any problems! its taken so long as 95% of the car has been built by myself, everything from the engine, wiring harness, bodywork inc interior paint, welding and fabrication is all done by myself in my workshop. I think the only things I didn't do myself were the alloy products and exterior paint.
So if it seemed that way, it wasn't the case.
Anyway, I digress. Here's a few pics of the car for anyone who's interested and I look forward to coming along to other meets in the future. There was such a great mixture and style of car there that I was never really bored, and the hill climb action was great.
