Here we have my 1994 Audi 80 Cabriolet. Its got the 2.6 V6 coupled to a 5 speed manual box.
From what I can gather, it was originally registered elsewhere, probably Northern Ireland going by the reg, as the V5 shows it to be registered in the UK around 1998 after being initially used elsewhere.
I originally bought it for my better half as her MX5 was too small for both of us and the dogs! However, she doesn't really share my love of the older vehicle and promptly commandeered my V70 instead. Her real love is for the new shape Beetle though, so when one cropped up at a BCA sale we were recently at, the deal was done and this is now officially surplus to requirements....
It's not without one or two minor issues but deep down, it's a solid example with some nice specifications and with a bit of light on-going resto will make a very nice car indeed.
The good points...
It has a practically full MOT
The mileage is pretty low for its age (around 105k off the top of my head)
The power roof works beautifully
It has a full blue leather interior which is in good nick other than some light scuffing on the driver's seat bolster
The wheels are apparently quite sought after 8j Boleros and were refurbed not long before I bought it although the edges that were diamond cut have got some corrosion
There is also quite a bit of history and both keys
The bad bits...
The rear window is deceased. Not just scruffy but officially knackered. It's watertight thanks to the gaffer tape but will need replacing.
There's a bit of bubbling under the bottom rubbing strips which needs some TLC....the missing one is in the boot but is the worst of the three and could really do with replacing.
There's a bit of a blow from the front of the exhaust when cold....this seems to almost disappear once it's warmed up and didn't even warrant a mention for the MOT but will probably only get worse in the future without attention.
As mentioned above, the wheels are looking a bit shabby too....I was originally going to get them fully resprayed again as I'm not a fan of the diamond cut look
It's also had the front wings replaced by the previous owner as the originals were rusty on the edge....the passenger side one was the right colour but the driver's side had to be resprayed and to be honest, it's a bit of a ten foot paint job! It really isn't too bad but would need either repainting or a good bit of compounding to get it approaching concours...
The price? I'm hoping to get around £1495.....as I say, it's a solid old example that will make a really nice car with a bit of care and attention. There's also another steering wheel to replace the one that's fitted and has started to peel.
I'd also be up for swaps potentially with anything interesting and/or retro, with this or my other Audi, a 2002 A8 4.2 quattro Lwb D2 or even possibly both for the right car. It's the space I could do with so to swap both for something very interesting that will only need one parking space could work....
I'm in East Lancashire near Pendle hill, about 20 mins from j29 of the M6
