SOLD!
Now here's something you don't see every day!
1959 Ford Step Van (Mileage unknown), steel front end and a coach built ally rear body, in great condition for the age with no rot and only a few minor dings and scrapes to sort out. This is an original unmolested truck, ready for you to put to whatever use you choose. At just under 20' long, its around the same length as a lwb Mercedes Sprinter, but unlike the Merc its absolutely huge inside. The full width rear doors allow you to make the most of the space, and you could easily fit a car, or half a dozen motorcycles, in there. Just to prove it, we shipped it home with a Model A Ford pick up in the back of it (See pic below)! Ideal to convert to a vintage rece transporter, motorhome, or catering wagon, this truck could be put to a thousand different uses.
The truck is pretty much as it came from the factory. Its fitted with one drivers seat, a basic dashboard, one side door, and two full width rear doors. Basically a big empty box for you to fill with whatever you like. The chassis rolls on 17.5" wheels (With four brand new tyres) with twin wheels to the rear, and was rated at 10,000lbs from new. However, as there's no weight listed on the US title, you could easily register it at 3.5t for use in the UK. The ally rear body is solid, with no tears or rot on the panels or the floor. All the glass is good, and the drivers seat base and mechanism is all present, so you just need to bolt on the seat of your choice.
There is no engine or gearbox fitted at present, it was originally a straight 6 engined truck, but there is room in there for practically anything you wanted, from a small diesel up to a big block, or even a big Cummins motor. Personally I'd look at swapping in the running gear from a twin wheel Sprinter/Iveco/Transit etc, but the choice is yours.
There's a few Step Van's making their way onto the UK market at the moment, but many of them are pretty limited with what you can do with them due to size and door access. The reason we bought this one in is that it is so adaptable to whatever use you have in mind, without altering the basic structure of the vehicle, it really is a blank canvas.
Price is SOLD
For more information, or to arrange a viewing, call me on 07789 378263, Ivor on 07944 294250, or reply on here. The truck, along with others we have for sale, is located in Hockwold, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. It has all duties paid, and is registered on the NOVA scheme, and we are happy to help with UK registration if needs be. Pictures below, along with a link to more here;
