I have a 1988 Renault 11 GTL.
It's in fair condition externally for its age. Interior is near enough immaculate. It's MOT'd until March '17. Just had a new exhaust all the way down so she's lovely and quiet. 5 on the floor with a manual choke. Sunroof, cd player/Bluetooth but have the original stereo, 109k ish miles.
I'm the 3rd owner. First owner bought this car from City Motors in Bristol in 1988, he then owned the car and had it maintained with the same dealer for 22 years! I have reams and reams of paperwork including the original invoice for the car, and every MOT inspection certificate. The next owner had it for 5 years, it stayed in Bristol, apart from a weekly journey to London which racked the mileage to what it roughly is now. This owner also maintained the car well, including a new steering rack (I'll get back to that). And then me a few months ago, and the car hasn't moved far from home at all. Just over the Severn Bridge. I've had to go sensible and bought a diesel Yaris seeing as I now cover more mileage for work so it's a reluctant sale but needs must.
Only bad things about it, she doesn't always idle consistently. She never cuts out and always starts on a cold morning (with the choke engaged). But a good carb clean out would probably work wonders. Secondly, that steering rack is very obviously new when you look at it, but from further inspection it has damaged itself either from being an incorrect part, a cheap part, or a bodge. I'm not sure, but the result is about an inch worth of play in the steering.
She drives well though, and she pulls ok for a 1400. Good tires on her too with an untouched spare.
Quirky car that have fast disappeared from our roads. Car is in South Wales. £300 !!!!
