As some of you may know, I'm a sucker for big old luxo-barges and purchased this on a whim (I genuinely have no need for it, but it was local and I haven't had an XJ for over 6 months now!).
In my opinion, it's the best colour combo for an XJ - British Racing Green with Ivory Leather. It has the black leather stitching on the centre console surround, black walnut veneer and black carpets and lower part of door cards. I have had over 30 XJs in my time, varying from Series 3, XJ40, Daimlers, X300s, X308s, X350s, Superchargers, etc., but in my opinion, this interior is epic and beats them all.
'AJ V8' Engine: 3.2 Litre / V8 / 32 Valve / 316Nm Torque / 140+ mph / £35k+ New
Mechanically sound, always starts first turn of the key. Idles in the correct manner. No overheating or fluid leaks. Gearbox is smooth and the gear changes are effortless and go unnoticed like they should in an XJ8. Pulls well in every gear, and Sports mode will put a smile on your face. Has some sort of an induction kit fitted, which sounds beefy but not too obtrusive.
Brakes are good and stop the big cat in a straight line. Suspension is pretty solid, with none of the usual knocking from the front. The rear does have a little knocking (either bushes or loose exhaust mounts). Slight wheel wobble at around 50 mph (front wheels most likely need a balance).
Super smooth ride, which only an XJ can muster.
Tyres are in very good condition in terms of tread, although the front two tyres have worn on the inner edges: Front two tyres are matching Pirelli P6000 and the rears are matching Falkens.
High specification includes: Switchable Sports Auto, Full Ivory Leather, Electric Front Seats, Power Folding Wing Mirrors, Electric Windows x 4, Dual Zone Digital Climate Control, Air Con, Trip Computer, Premium Audio, CD Multi Changer, Cruise Control, Front Fog Lamps, 16" Dimple Sport Alloys, Darkened Sport Grill, Heavy Duty Battery, Vanity Mirrors with Lighting, Sunglasses Holder, Multi Function Steering Wheel, Cruise, etc
Ice Cold Air Conditioning - great for the current weather!
Everything works as it should, with no warning lights on the dash.
Exterior is finished in the traditional British Racing Green. Generally in presentable order, but by no means mint (looks great from a distance!). Bonnet and OSF wing have a dent, as does the front bumper (both have been touched up, but not the best job). Roof and boot lid have heavy grazing / cracks in the paint. No major rust or rot - all arches are solid. Looks decent and clean, as per the photos below. The roof isn't too much of an issue, but I would just try to get a replacement boot lid in the same colour, and swap it over.
Interior is in very good condition, with some wear on the driver's seat bolster and a few cracks on the front seats. No major rips or tears and the interior is very pleasant indeed.
Comes with: 1 x Key, 1 x Remote Key Fob, A few Bills & Receipts, Green Slip of Logbook (full receipt will be given in the interim).
