1983 Citroen 2CV limited edition Charleston. 83068 Miles
The car is located in Sleaford
This car has been in storage for some 16 years, in a dry barn. The previous owner used to collect 2CV's and this was one of two cars he had for sale. It is a French built (best of them) 2CV in two tone grey.
I have spent a number of days getting the car running again, new points, condenser, plugs, oil and filter, new fuel lines and replacement fuel pump. The timing has been adjusted and coil also replaced.
The car starts, idles well and drives with all gears working fine. The engine revs freely and sounds very good.
The brakes work well (single disk type). Handbrake pulls clean and stops the vehicle from moving.
All of the tyres hold air well, being old there are some quite serious cracking and would need to be replaced to be safe.
The car sits level, all the suspension seems to be working correctly.
Steering is free and responsive.
The roof is different to that shown in the photo, I've replaced it with a 'better' roof I had spare which still really need replacing and has holes in it; it was better than the grey roof however. Tape it up or a new roof is not that expensive.
The Chassis looks original to the car and from what I can see looks very solid. The shell is good and straight, the floorpans need replacing and there is some surface rust in areas.
The history of the car is very comprehensive from 1994 onwards, with receipts for all work including kingpins and new clutch.
The car was last MOT'd in 1999 and I have them back to 1994.
I have a previous receipt of sale and 4 previous owners plus myself.
Road Tax I have from 96, 97, 98 and 99
There is an owners manual with the car also
Jack, original wood wheel stop and spare wheel are with the car
After the welding has been done, I can't see any reason the car would not get and MOT, it was driving in to the barn with one all those years ago and I've driven it around my field without any problem.
