I'm hoping to find a 1.8 Zetec flywheel for my project (Lotus Europa with a Zetec swap). Over here in North America all the Zetecs were 2.0 motors, so finding one here is next to impossible. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to ship to the west coast of Canada?
Thanks, Rod

You should be able to use a cvh (efi) flywheel with the bolt holes drilled out to suit. I think the efi cvh engines were fairly common over your side.

I had a look into the CVH flywheels over here, but from what I recall they are missing the notches on the back side for the crank position sensor. I'll do some more research...

Over here the cvh that was in the Fiesta XR2i, Fiesta RS Turbo and late S2 Escort RS Turbo has a suitable flywheel. You had EFI for a long while before we did due to emissions, but I'm not sure what setup they run.

It appears that the EFI CVH flywheels over here are unsuitable unless I have the notches machined into it. The crank position sensor is at the front crank pulley. I think I'll have a chat with my machinist friend to see what he'd charge to put the notches in, if it's too much I'll keep searching for a 1.8 flywheel.

Why not just get a 2.0 flywheel lightened & balanced? The Cvh uses a notched bottom pulley for the sensor pick up.

I'm hoping to get the 1.8 flywheel so that I can use a stock Renault disc (220 mm). If I stick with the 2.0 flywheel I'd have to have a custom disc made up. I have a guy here in town who can make up a disc but I'd rather have a clutch that I can buy off the shelf.

Looking into this, the 1.6 Zetec flywheel can also be used, are they readily available? They also take a 220mm clutch. And lighter than the 1.8 flywheel too. *edit Sorry, your opening post did say all the zetecs were 2.0

A 1.6 would be even better.
