After seeing the mad max inspired MX5 in the for sale section; it got me searching for that classic 'mad max/diesel punk/steampunk' look. I haven't found much online and would love some pictures or links to build threads. It's something I've always wanted to build, but budget doesn't allow a Holden for example, more of the DIY builders who use the look as inspiration. Anyone?

This is well worth a watch, this is the first episode, I think there was about 6.

I share your enthusiasm, really want to build a madmax inspired motor. shame the UK doesn't have an event like this.

Some of you may recall this one: From here: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/83236My favourite real-life one so far - there's a fine line between the perfect example and one that's gone too far.

Nice love that one ^ Yeah it would be easy to go too far. Some of them look more like toys with far too much stuck on.

My brother in law has just completed this Fury Road replica. Think it's the only one in the country When's he putting the correct wheels on it? Needs correct wheels, stance sorting and a motor. Unfortunately the owner of the car won't spend anymore money on it at the moment which is a shame as myself and my brother in law can see a lot of serious potential in it

No disrespect intended but having obviously gone to a fair bit of trouble and vast expense sourcing a hardtop falcon in the UK getting what looks of first glance like a Arcadipane front etc why build a Fury road replica, he could have gone for the interceptor as it was at the start of Mad Max 2, beaten up and used with the long range tanks etc and had a similar look without it looking like it had been to hell and back.

Or just built a very cool XB Coupe without the need to make it a replica anything. Not a fan of replica movie cars in general, although an original Interceptor would be cool.

Thinking about it (and being a bit of a fan of the XA XB XC series) IF it's the base car I am thinking of (hasn't been seen in quite a while) it's not a genuine GT and has been in the UK a long time now as a Mad Max replica.
If I ended up with a base model 6 cylinder (about the only thing I could afford) I would be tempted to do it as a Bathurst racer upgrading and modifying as I went along.

He built what was requested. The front end is a new build from scratch. As is the blower and spoilers etc

Ai Slacker no disrespect to your brother building what was asked. By any chance did he save the panel below the rear window between it and the boot lid?
