BMW 525i M50 Touring
Runs on LPG & Petrol
MOT August 2016
Price £1500 ono
Location Swindon
For sale. My LPG converted 525i touring.
I have decided to sell my m50 automatic 525i touring which has a fully sequential multi point LPG conversation. It's a lay flat tank (fits where the spare wheel should be) which seems to be quite unusual for an E34 due to the complexity of the petrol tank arrangement. This car has a Prinns convention which was installed by Prinns in Southampton and is complete with certificates. It is extremely economical and even commuting around Bristol it will return 220 miles to £30 worth of LPG.
The car is a fairly unusual Sorento Blue colour which is lovely and has a full silver grey leather interior. This car is in very good condition inside and out. The interior has some minor wear to the drivers seat but is very presentable and only needs recolouring, no wholes, door cards are also immaculate with no riding. It has cruise control and factory rear parking sensor which work really well.
The body work is very good, straight and fairly rust free although there is rot on the very bottoms of the front wings and on a couple of door corners but the doors are solid along the bottoms. This car has no sunroof so sills are excellent. The rears have been repaired in the usual place and the subframe was dropped out to do this, at which point new subframe bushes where fitted. Small dent in the bonnet and cracked rear bumper where the previous owner ignored the PDC.
This car has loads and loads and loads of history. It's had all the rear bushes done recently. Gearbox has had its oil changed and a new cooler fitted. In my ownership I have fitted a new thermostat and radiator as well as back brake pads. Deleted the sls and replaced with new 540 shocks and springs.
The engine runs well despite having covered 218k and the gearbox changes as it should in all modes. The car has some unusual extras including Factory fitted rear parking sensors and cruise control. All of the electric bits, windows, mirrors etc work as they should, as does the split rear tailgate.
The not so good bits. It desperately needs new front suspension arms as they are clattering away quite badly. It also has an oil leak from the cam cover. I have changed this twice and have discovered the cam cover itself is warped. I have sourced a good one and will include in the sale.
Otherwise it's a very nice, solid and reliable car. I have done 700 miles in it this week and it hasn't missed a beat. MOT is due in August and the only thing I expect to be an issue is the suspension arms as mentioned.
Only selling as we no longer need two estate cars. I am looking for a 1.2 Seat Ibiza in a bright colour for my partners children to learn to drive in and would be open to a swap, otherwise looking for £1500 ono.
Car is located near Swindon and can be viewed by prior arrangement.
I can be contacted on 07833491349 please only call between 09,00 and 22,00, really hoping this goes to a loving home.
