Any ideas what this is worth?
I bought it around three years ago for the other half but having driven it a couple of times, she never really bonded with it and it got parked up in the corner of the yard. She's now got a beetle convertible that she adores so it's time for this to move to pastures new but values seem to be all over the shop?
I believe its around a 1994-1995 but as its on northern Irish plates and it was re-registered here in 1998, I assume it was originally from over the water.
Good points...
It has just passed the MOT with only minor fettling.
The previous owner replaced lots of bits such as bottom arms etc before he lost his storage and had to sell (to me)
Mileage isn't silly at about 105k and there's quite a bit of history.
The wheels are apparently quite sought after being 8" wide and are in pretty good condition with just a bit of polishing where the edges have been diamond cut.
The blue leather interior is in good nick.
Bad bits...
The main one is the back window is completely beyond redemption. It's water tight thanks to lots of gaffer tape but needs replacing ASAP. The blue mohair hood is in good nick other than that and the electrics/hydraulics are in gwo.
The front wings have been replaced where they were a bit frilly with good secondhand ones however the o/s one was black and has been resprayed to a ten foot standard along with the front bumper. It's not bad but neither is it concourse.
When it's cold, the exhaust seems a bit raspy but when tick over drops to normal, it quitens right down. The MOT man seemed happy enough with it though...
To summarise, it's got the makings of a good usable classic rag top with a bit of ongoing light cosmetic attention. It just seems a shame to leave it gathering dust alongside my A8 4.2 Quattro LWB (which could also be up for grabs but that's another story) so if anyone's got any ideas (or anything interesting to swap for one or two interesting Audis ;-) ) then feel free to give me food for thought.....
Many thanks in eager anticipation! Lol
