I've decided to sell my Chevette as I don't have the enthusiasm to give it what it needs. It's just failed the mot on welding to the sills, one headlamp aim and the carb needs adjusting (its just been rebuilt so will just need adjusting) I've owned it just over two years as a garage find, the last registered keeper past away and the car was left in the garage and the house sold, the new owners weren't interested and it was sold locally. Unfortunately due to the house move all the paperwork was lost including the logbook which I had to apply for.
Since i've owned it i've had the carb stripped and rebuilt with all new gaskets, new fuel lines, spark plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm and fitted it with Electronic Ignition. Its recently had a new front wheel bearing and front pads as well as new rear shoes, wheel cyclinders and anti roll bar drop links. It had 29k on it when I got it and i've used it regularly and now has just under 36,000. The interior is like new with no wear or marks on anything.
The bodywork needs some attention, it was parked up in 2001 until 2014 and the damp has caused surface rust on some panels, that aside it polishes up very well. The drivers side rear arch needs replacing and repairs to the drivers sill and one small patch on the other side. Once the bodywork is done I would trust it to go anywhere, the only breakdown I've had in two years was the rotor arm!
I'll set the price at £750 but no sensible offer refused as I need the space for another project.
