Popped in to the National Holden Museum in Echuca, Victoria today.
Nice collection of cars and other bits and pieces.
48-215 – first Australian made car
Another 48-215
FJ
FE, then something else, then another one
FE Ute which was beside
The actual car used in the movie “Charlie and Boots”
Sandman shaggin’ wagon
HJ Statesman which is actually a Caprice prototype
Couple of Toranas and some HQs
HQ Monaro
WH Caprice
Which is actually a fibreglass prototype
Modern Monaro
Mambo Sandman show car (belongs to Holden)
HRT Maloo prototype – they never made these, HSV do
GTS Monaro
And another
FJ Styling model
VZ styling model
Prototype Pontiac GTO
Smokey 1
Camira wagon – engineered in Aus and the panels were exported to Europe for the Cavalier estate
I didn’t expect to see a styling model for a 4 door Nova saloon. Presumably it was done in Aus but I can’t find any info on it.
And finally a little bit of history – a pic (of a pic) of Holden’s Melbourne site in 1990. The engine plant that makes the HFV6 engine is where the field with what looks like a party going on is.
And the site today – everything covered in the white box is for sale and is gradually being knocked down
