SOLDSOLDSOLD
G'day chaps,
Have you ever wanted to feel like a Moroccan taxi driver? If you have this is just the car for you!
The most important thing to say is this car has problems. Lots of problems. It's a bit of a shed. I guarantee this car will be worse than you are expecting. That said, I love it, and I'm only selling it because I've just recently bought a Honda Legend Coupe.
I bought it in March 2015 for £850. In the rain. It looks much better in the rain. That said mechanically it has been great, the fan belt tensioner went (since replaced) but apart from that it's been spot on. I've done about 6k in it and then parked it up in my garage at the start of May this year when it developed steering wheel judder and I bought the Legend. Took it out today and started first time.
I think I've listed all the problems below, I may be forgetting some (as there are so many). Here is a potato-quality video, photos below:
The bad points first:
292k
Steering Wheel Judder which gets worse the faster you go, drivable around town but wouldn't take it above 50/60mph at the moment. It feels like a sticky caliper but I am no mechanic.
Brake warning light comes on regularly since wheel judder has started, brakes themselves feel fine
Rust on bonnet and a bit on arches, a bit on the boot, not got worse since I've had it
Scratches everywhere
Dings everywhere
Damage below n/s/r light, looks like a poor fibreglass repair has been attempted
Engine still runs when you take the key out (you have stall it to stop, my fiance finds this hilarious)
O/S/R door doesn't open from outside
Driver's side mirror adjustment lever is broken off and you need to adjust with your hand manually from outside
Neither rear windows work and are held up with gaffer tape (front ones both work) -they really need gluing up!
Aerial doesn't go up or down and radio doesn't pick up signal (CD player works)
Water getting in behind NS rear door card, door card is caput
Central heater (above radio) blows cold but car gets very warm quickly inside so no worries here
Chip in windscreen although not an MOT fail (passed last two at least with it).
Headlight glass cracked (again not an MOT fail)
Door cards are pretty knackered
Heater blower is loud
Slightly stiff getting into reverse however this has not got any worse in the 6k I've put on it
Needs a good clean, although to be honest this would probably just highlight the scratches and dents more...
The good bits
MOT until September, if the wheel judder is sorted I can't see anything else it would need.
Starts first time everytime. Started straight away since being stood since early May.
I would trust this car to drive anywhere. If the wheel judder hadn't started I'd still be driving it regularly.
Pulls well through all gears although this car is sloooooooooow. I can't imagine what the 2.0 version is like...
4 good tyres
Engine will happily sit at 90 on motorway (although I of course stick to 70 at all times)
Chassis is solid, no welding needed
Classic insurance
Really good on fuel
Gets up to temperature quickly and doesn't fluctuate
Interior is good (apart from door cards)
Doesn't smoke at all
Some history, I serviced it 6k ago in March 2015.
GR8 4 ratl00k etc...
I think that just about covers it. It's not worth much. I want£400 ono - £300. I'll take less if someone convinces me they're going to look after it. It's in Harrogate. It's not taxed or insured but you can drive it a bit on the land around my block of flats if you want. I wouldn't take it home on the motorway as things stand. Any questions just ask.
