I love looking at gumtree and finding nuggets and jems.
Its like back in the day and getting the yellow loot paper and looking for 80's hot hatches for peanuts.
I love the spotted, abandoned threads, this is also one of good ones.
Keep up the good work son.

1991 Fiat X1/9 55k miles Project + spares £700 - These are not for everyone but a decent & solid little project at very sensible money and the model type is very quickly now appreciating with decent examples commanding upwards of £5K www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1178020

Great little cars, not ultra rare yet but they will be one day!

Austin A40 Farina. Gloucs. £375.00 1966. Off road since '92. Requires extensive restoration. That car looks oddly familiar... I live around the corner from Rae Davis, of Rae Davis Racing. He builds and races just about anything with an A Series engine, and all his cars are built in his domestic garage alongside his house. There's usually some interesting machinery - a race-spec minor, or a stripped-down Mini Marcos - parked outside. He doesn't seem to do the internet (much), but here's his Facebook page.Just recently an A40 turned up at his house on a trailer, and I'm almost sure it's this one. I can't verify it right now because the car is currently under a cover, but the A40 in these photos does look exactly like the one he just bought. Keep an eye out at Goodwood - I have a feeling this car is going to show up on the track...

1955 MG Magnette - For restoration - very cheap @ £695 - requires lots of work but with parts readily available for these - good examples command £10k + with excellent examples on the cusp of £20k - would make a decent project - but not for the faint hearted www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1202890

We were discussing Art Deco interiors on another thread, I think the ZA / ZB Magnettes have the most delightful Art Deco inspired dashboard. MG Magnette Art Deco-inspired interior by Chris, on Flickr It won't have escaped your attention that this was a Graham Palmer design.

Absolutely not - early Javelin models also carried a 'Art Deco' style dash

Audi A4. Northampts. £2,695.00 1996. Long MOT, drives well. 2.6 litre V6 manual. Low mileage with only 20K miles over past 15 years. Fairly clean MOT history. Current owner has owned car for 20 years, judging by the badges he is BIAM and is presumably giving up driving. The car has obviously been garaged and well looked after.

Triumph Dolomite 1500HL. Middx. £1,850.00 [SOLD]1978. Drives. MOT expired, (exempt). ?Low mileage? M/OD. Sunroof. MOT history worth a check as it's indicative of some neglect of maintenance in recent years. To drive and improve.

That's it. Knew it was someone with eclectic tastes.
I'd roll that Dyane as it stands, no worries.

The "Original chassis with some welding done and will need more welding." concerns me somewhat, knowing their propensity to rust under the bulkhead with the outcome of the chassis folding in half, as happened to a 1986 Dolly I rescued which had just passed its MOT, and also Sam Glover's recent rescue of a reasonable looking Dyane in the latest issue of Practical Classics magazine.
I suspect it probably requires a new chassis, preferably galvanised, before you could drive it with no worries...
