Model: Toyota Hiace Super Custom Limited
Year: 1994
Mileage: 120k-150k??
MOT: Expired & Sorn
Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Price: £1600
Something i never thought i'd do but lack of space and the potential of even less space soon means i'm having to sell my old daily of nearly 4 years. I'll warn early on, i always tend to make the cars i'm selling sound worse than they actually are but i'd rather it that way. My 7 seater Toyota Hiace Super Custom Limited, it ran out of MOT a few months ago but buying a newer (but not as good Toyota Alphard) meant it never got MOT'ed or taxed. It would need some welding to pass its MOT now as the sills which i stupidly forgot to photo are showing signs of rot both sides. The underside of the van itself isn't too bad but the sills on these (JDM weak spot) do tend to rot. I'll get some more pictures for anyone who is interested. Getting all the bad things out of the way first. When i purchased the van 4 or so years ago, the digital dashboard never showed the milege. The guy i bought it from had another couple of Hiace's and was clearly into them, he reckoned it was when they converted the speedo into MPH from KMH. I wasn't bothered myself as i had planned to keep the van forever and bought on condition. We think judging by the condition of the engine, gearbox etc. it was on roughly 110k when i got it 4 years ago so now with what i've done in it, its thought to be roughly 150k? Since i've had it, i've replaced the water pump and recently had the power steering pump seals replaced. Front brakes last year. Its been a really reliable old Van... probably the reason most of these have been exported to Africa and are running around over there. Also sometimes when its warm the automatic shifter won't come out of PARK unless you push the shiftlock button underneath the shifter, probably a sensor somewhere in the brake pedal, never bothered me as i looked at it like an additional security measure
The interior is where this van wins, 3 rows of seats. The centre seats spin the full 360 degrees so you can either all face forward like normal cars, or spin to face the rear creating a lounge style seating, or even sideways to face out of the side door. Perfect for pulling up at the beach, side door open, chairs reclined, sunroof open... bliss!
The seats also fold down flat to form a bed, ideal for weekends away!
In the centre armrest, it has a built in food warmer/fridge, kettle and even a ice maker! The ice normally takes about 40 mins to become.... ice, which is great on road trips! The kettle normally takes about 10 mins. Its got Cupholders & Armrests all over the place, front, centre and rear!
Joyful Talk... nothing prepares you for this! Basically a intercom system which has a mic front and back so you can casually chat (or listen to them if they don't know you have joyful talk hehehe....) to the people in the back without raising your voice. Such a great function! My new 2004 Toyota Alphard doesn't have this and its meant to be fully loaded, not progress at all
It has got electric curtains, they've never worked the whole time i've had it but again, hasn't bothered me as when i go camping in it, i just pull them closed myself.
Parking Sonar, which translates as parking sensors front and back. But you also get a hang down mirror for the back so parking is easy. Also the turning circle is stupidly tight, not quite a London Cab but can't be far off.
The exterior needs work, as stated earlier it will need both front sills and the wheel arches doing. It does have age related marks all over the body. The original JDM vinyls that ran front to back had started to peel so i took them off and replaced them with wood look vinyl.
The Nardi Steering Wheel in the pictures isn't included, thats staying with me. It will come with a leather Lexus Soarer wheel. The van is SORN and will need low loading away. I have a ton of paperwork including bills and work carried out. I'll have a dig around to see if i can find any spares i might have.
I'm asking £1600 on here before listing it on Ebay, i'd rather it went to someone on here who will keep it in this country. I know the export market is strong for these. I know it would be worth more with an MOT etc. but again i'd rather someone on here got it for cheaper and did it themselves to create something nice. Sort the bodywork, lower it and banded steels, instant winner!!
Feel free to message me on here with any questions. I know i'll have left something out about the van.
Last one was me messing about trying on some wide steels (not included) Roofrack also not included.
I really don't want to sell this
