Now getting:
New mirror glass - genuine, heated one. Genuine cap/rotor arm (rotor arm from Jaguar Classic, cap from eBay after they told me which OEM one to track down - Jaguar Classic don't do it themselves) Air filters. Oil & filter. Replacement of the remains of a leaper with the correct black growler & fittings. (Scratch that - though it's got a growler & fittings, there's an extra locating hole, so it's getting a new, complete leaper fitted and the other parts can be saved for restoration to stock).
On the list for when I have time to clear it:
Adjust or replace front offside wheelbearing.
Asking price here doesn't change, though after £200+ of bits for it (that distributor cap was £85 reduced from £151!), I'll be a little less flexible on offers now!

Weekend bump as the new beast should be arriving on Monday - air filters done, but still waiting on the other parts to arrive! Took the car out for a short run today and decided on a deserted backroad to open it up a lot more than I have previously... It sounds glorious. I can only imagine what these sounded like with sports exhausts and TWR stuff.
It's weird getting into the pattern of the XJS being the default set of keys I'm grabbing. That will change even if it doesn't sell, but I can feel the "yeah, I just drove here in a V12 Jaguar, so what?" kicking in.
Tomorrow is a quiet day if anyone is wanting to see it!

I know this isn't quite what you were after but can I offer £3 (and P&P) for the practical classics on the XJS? It might just help a total newbie like me to get some understanding of what I'm up against, and it'll be a fun read. Sorry if you this annoys you - I just thought it was worth a try.

One part of the XJS done and the door mirror glass is also done - still waiting for the distributor cap to show up, annoyingly, but I'll do the oil & filter change next. I bet the filter is REALLY EASY to get to, like on Mercedes. Speaking of which... it's here now. Maybe I should just sort some other things and keep the XJS...

Just curious, how much would it cost to replace the headlights with the "UK" spec design, as opposed to the US spec design?

I'm going to guess around £300 or less, but depends on what you find parts-wise secondhand. I've seen good fishtanks for £140 consistently, but sometimes as low as £80 and still in very nice condition with the trims. I much prefer the quad-lights and I also think they are much better in terms of actual lighting, though.
