Up for sale today is my Peugeot 205 1124CC model. I bought this recently in North Devon as it was such a clean and solid example and rarely being able to resist a local 205; I found that in reality, I don't have the time to put into getting it to 100% and as such, it's a great runabout or slight restoration project for someone looking to get into cheap 205 motoring.
The engine is the 1.1 TU which is currently at over 94,000 which is pretty low for a 21 year old car, the engine runs but I find it's a little choppy until warmed it'll need a tune since it's hardly used. I have evidence of the cam belt being done in 2014 so this isn't a factor. It's had an oil change and filter since I bought it. The car is fully drivable as it is and completed a journey from Culumpton to Plymouth without any problem.
The body of the car is abnormally good for an old French motor. 205's are well known for their rust resilience versus other vehicles from the same time but this example hasn't rotted in the boot or under the rear seats where 205s like to spring holes normally. Paintwork-wise, I think the passenger door could really do with being re-sprayed as it's oxidised as red does, the rest of the paint is pretty good with only the bonnet being perhaps worth getting touched in due to scratches and stone chips.
The interior of the car is pretty good, it's got the Mardi Gras style blue carpet and seats which have held up well with no rips and only two cigarette burns as blemishes. The parcel shelf is present and also the boot carpet. The gear knob needs replacing but that's pretty standard for a 205.
The electrics work well, its got two headlights, two indicators, a working heater, a radio that works and is a Clarion, two wipers with wash setting (the rear one doesn't function?) and the electric windows go up and down - this is the extent of technology in a 1995 205.
The car is pretty striking, you've probably noticed the GTi front and rear looks, it's a very good looking car and I've noticed that the rivets are already installed in the doors should you fancy fitting the GTi door trim kit. it's sat on 13 inch wheels currently which doesn't effect insurance premiums thankfully!
I've got loads and loads of receipts and history with this car, the V5 in my name and also 2 keys that operate all the locks. It's a lovely late 205 that would ideally suit a new driver or someone looking to convert the car to a 16 valve 106 GTi or Saxo VTS engine or run it as it came from the factory.
I believe this car can be insured with classic insurance as it was registered on 22nd August 1995. It has an MOT until 23rd June 2017 and I've got it taxed so it's ready to be driven away once you insure it.
