Hi and thanks for looking at my van.
Sadly I'm losing my storage so I'm going to have to part ways her.
So, a bit of background. I've owned her since 2001 I think which is the longest I've owned any car. I purchased it from M's restorations in Warwickshire. It's been all over the UK in the years I've had it and has been great fun.
The bus is a 1966, UK rhd walk through. It's not a mid 70's Brazilian kit or a lhd import so you're buying the real deal here. It used to have a 1600 tp when I got it but in 2008 I spent £3,500 having a 2332cc motor built by Richard Morena. The exhaust was £600 on its own. It runs on twin 44IDF webbers and has only done around 1500 miles on this engine.
Carbs will want stripping and cleaning as they're full of dirt from sitting unused for so long.
At the same time Richard also fitted an immobiliser though I can't remember what insurance category it was.
It has an external oil cooler with fan under the chassis.
Gearbox is a beetle GT box with awesome ratios and a Kennedy clutch with a quickshift gear lever.
Porsche 356 replica wheels
Foxy beam adjuster up front so you can change the ride height if you wish.
Disc brakes up front.
Having been stood for so long, they'll need stripping and inspecting but it rolls freely and they do work fine.
The interior is based on a Devon conversion with a 3/4 width rock and roll bed, two burner cooker in a unit on the cargo door, overhead locker, sink unit with electric tap, buddy seat and is all carpeted in black carpet.
The body was painted for my wedding 5 1/2 years ago and has only been outside 7-8 times since painting. It's finished in gulf racing colours. The logos on the sides are just stickers and the stripes are painted.
Underneath has been welded before during her 50 years of motoring but is all solid so far as I'm aware.
There is some expanding foam in one corner of the engine bay however, it's always been there so I've left it alone rather than picking at it.
Safari windows up front and 4 pop outs in the rear.
Chrome trim is generally good but some ares have rusted a little.
Chrome US spec bumpers and towel rails.
As I've already stated, she has been sat indoors for a few years so will need light recommissioning. Bear that in mind as you won't be driving her away.
She will need:
Tyres replacing preferably as they have started to crack with age
Fuel tank draining as the fuel inside has gone off
At least one bit of fuel line replacing as it's leaking through age.
Battery replacing
Brakes inspecting
A few bulbs replacing
Carbs to be stripped and cleaned.
MOT to be obtained as it has lapsed obviously
As you can see it's not a huge list but I haven't the time, funds or storage anymore.
Please be aware that the engine will not start at present due to the stale fuel, dirty carbs and fuel leak. She turns over fine and you're more than welcome to compression test her or inspect in any other way you need.
I don't really want a part exchange, I don't want a swap and I'm afraid I don't do finance.
And these are the only two I have of when the engine was built and installed.
I'm asking £20,000 but it's currently on eBay for less:

It's got to go so I'm open to offers.
Thanks.
Ross
