Due to a repair bill on my modern road litter car i am going to have to part with my Sceptre.
The car is really solid the only rust in in the lower front wing, every panel including the cills are original. No rot under the vinyl roof or anywhere else. Headlight backing boxes perfect and have never been welded.
When I bought it, it had been off the road for over 26 years and needed a fair bit of work as everything had seized up.
The head needed a light skim – its first as the car has only done 21,000 miles.
Interior is near mint other that the drives side carpet that has suffered some damage due to damp.
It drives like a new car with no rattles or squeaks, and the gear box change perfectly and smoothly.
The paintwork has suffered through nearly 30 years of storage - I was just going to flatten it back a bit and clear coat it.
Or a re-spray would look good.
The brake servo needs replacing as it has been bypassed and the auto box inhibitor switch needs to be changed but I have one on order.
The fuel tank could do with acid dipping, the old fuel that was left in it seems to have turned to brown treacle, have taken the tank out a few times but really does need doing properly.
Has a stainless steel exhaust so sounds great.
MOT until 17/02/17
A very easy project that doesn’t need a huge amount to make a show car.
Car is at Lydney Gloucestershire
£2600 ovno
