	A few weeks ago i got one of these Clarke generators (barely used around a year old) for £133 www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-fg2500-2-4kva-portable-petrol-powered-g/ Then my dad turned up with this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KRAFTECH-8500-UK-PLUGS-6-5HP-2-5KVA-PETROL-GENERATOR-3-PHASE-3-x-230V-1x-400V-/112019368368?hash=item1a14dfe9b0:g:ZKsAAOSwnLdWr9~o He paid £200 to a couple of lads who sort of accosted him outside the local chinese So they both seem to be similarly priced when new The larger one has three 220v outlets, 3 phase, voltmeter, trip switch and 12v outlet, large fuel tank. The 220v sockets need three-pin adaptors. But there is no proven record of ownership on the 'net. I don't know if it will last or not The Clarke is mobile (although i have a plan for the other one), one 220v output and a 12v outlet. It seems to have less but there are reviews of it's reliability and i guess it will work without problem What do you think?

	Well, the second one was no doubt nicked from a poor sod like us! Buying from people like that just encourages them to nick more, maybe your stuff next time.

	How do you know it wasn't stolen? Two guys driving around trying to sell a generator? Doesn't that look a little suspicious? Classic back of a lorry. Honest people don't usually sell stuff like that. As far as you are aware? That's an easy copout. If we can get stuff cheap we turn a blind eye as to where it came from. Next time it could be someone buying a generator stolen from your garage, not such a good deal then. I had my workshop cleaned out a few years ago and it wasn't very nice. The stuff they stole included a generator.

	Ok, like i say, it wasn't stolen as far as i am aware ok? I'm sorry your garage was robbed but conflating that with this is not necessarily the right thing to do

	Whats the application, and is this something to use for a few months or forever? Id be inclined to go with the Clarke for the reason you mention unless you need multiple outlets and its just temporary.

	Yes, either one i would want to keep indefinitely I don't have any evidence the larger one would be less reliable Clearly it's aimed at the budget end of the market but so is Clarke? I think the margins are fairly small so will continue with the larger one Thanks
