After 4 years, I think it's time for a change, so up for grabs is my Dolomite, aka Tangomite. It's a 1972 Dolomite, originally manual, but converted to auto by the previous owner, everything swapped over inc the diff, so it goes as well as it should, in fact it still surprises a lot of moderns. As you can see from the photos, it's not exactly standard, but it's not wildly modified, certainly nothing that makes it hard to return to standard, well, except the paint.
Resprayed a couple of years ago in Ford Signal Orange, and it's not a bad paint job, but it's not the best, you can see a few sanding scratches close up, but it's a great 5ft away car, maybe another wet sand and polish would help, but it was fine for me. Mechanically its sound, and standard apart from the Rimmers Sports exhaust system, interior wise, we have 2 options, the standard cloth trim in the rare New Tan colour, or a leather interior finished in, what has been described as a lovely Caramac colour, these seats came from an old Rover 213 VdP, I've dyed the fronts (originally grey) and I also have the rears which basically fit the Triumph, but needs a bit of tweaking still for a decent enough fit, and they still need dying to match (dye supplied) or I've been running it with a cloth rear seat that's not a million miles away in colour.
It's MOT'd till April 17, and of course it's VED free being '72. I may consider a swap or PX for the right car (must be pre Aug 83, so Y reg at the latest, it's a cut off age for a local weekly car show I try and get to regularly) I'll let the photos do the talking, but any questions, fire away, viewings welcome, although I do work odd hours so may need some notice and flexibility unless its my day off, as stated, I'm in Bournemouth Dorset.
