Unfortunately after 7 years of ownership the time has come to sell one of my personal vehicles - A rare JAS Beach Buggy with a VW Twin Port 1600cc engine and Beetle parts.
The car is based on a 1968 VW Beetle Chassis, which has been shortened by 12.5 inches, making it a more desirable short wheelbase model. However unlike many of the short wheel base cars this one still retains rear seating.
I have just spent £2000 on some re-commisioning, including a replacement gearbox and clutch, New Solex Carburettors, New dynamo and regulator, spark plugs and HT Leads. Brakes have also been overhauled along with a full service and MOT, ready to go for its new owner.
The car looks stunning finished in black gel coat, with full red vinyl interior - ideal as you can sponge down the seats should you take it onto the beach - (something i have never unfortunately done)
Being a 1968 vehicle it is under historic taxing, therefore NIL.
I do have a large history file, including the original bill of sale from 1968 for the Beetle, various invoices for parts used when it was converted to a Beach buggy. Along with some photos of the build.
I will be sad to see the buggy go, however due to lack of use and storage I am not left with much choice. Rest assured the new owner will get a cracking car, ready to use this summer!
