Enlighten me how you had it insured? How do you insure a 1.4 petrol tigra, which is no longer 1.4 or petrol. How do you obtain tax for such a vehicle, I'd like to know, because as far as I'm aware,you can't? I'm willing to be proven wrong.

I declared the engine change when insuring without a lot of bother. The car has been mot'd twice as a diesel so no problems there. Yes the V5 still says it's a petrol and a 1.4 BUT as the current engine still sits in the lower tax bracket I'm not eligible to be paying more tax for the privilege of using it so on that front I'm still not doing anything wrong. Yes the V5 needs to be changed, not trying to avoid the issue in any way but I'd like to move on and I would have just been held up waiting....as it looks like everyone is hung up on paperwork these days it looks like I shall have to get this sorted |

No, not looking for an argument, just explanations to some perfectly valid questions, given that I've never had a car with a non std engine installed.

I'd have had this in a heartbeat had you been closer.
I just can't justify an 800 mile round trip for something I don't really need.

I'm really interested in this but just can't raise the cash right now as waiting on insurance claim going to court. If it was a couple of months time or touch less I'd be all over it. Good luck.
