1973 Reliant Rebel Van,
This van was Recommissioned in 2011 lots of recent work but never fully restored. The Odometer shows it as having done 77,000 miles which I sadly cannot verify but believe to be genuine. The engine has been replaced with a later 850cc Reliant lump. The interior has been sympathetically re-trimmed in a period style. It could be further restored or enjoyed just as it is. This van benefits from having the optional folding rear seat fitted which was one of the rarer options offered on the van. It's MoT'd till April 2017, and is eligible for free road tax as a historic vehicle. A rebuild thread documeting the work I've done to it can be found here: www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12915
The original paintwork is showing its age, there are lots of touched up areas which don't quite match but the paintwork does buff up quite well despite its many marks and imperfections. I quite like the honesty of worn in look to the paintwork but it may not suit everyone. The fibreglass bodywork is generally in good condition with the odd bit of cracking and crazing that comes with time, The drivers door has drooped a little meaning you need to lift it as its closed.
Come's with a history folder with some old paperwork and a lot of recent receipts.
A short summary of work I've done since 2011 includes:
Interior Retrim including new door cards, sound deadening, carpets, sun visors, headlining finished off with new stainless steel heater flaps.
Full Brake system overhaul, including new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, cupro-nickel brake lines, rubber hoses, adjusters etc
GAZ adjustable Shock absorbers All round, New front springs,
Suspension Overhaul, bushes, trunnions, dust seals etc repaced.
Iridium Plugs, Oil & Filter change, Lucas Electronic ignition system
Replacement NOS SU Carb,
Full Stainless steel exhaust,
The addition of a front anti-roll bar (7/8" diameter) has transformed the handling.
The only chassis welding needed has been the replacement of the outriggers.
New front seatbelts, no belts in the back (not required)
Front screen rubber replaced,
Recent genuine Trico stainless wiperblades and arms, motor replaced and new park switch fitted,
Propshaft rebuilt with new UJ's
Gearbox overhauled, inc seals & bearings
New handbrake cable,
Sealed beams replaced with H4 Halogen Headlamps & replacment bowls (NOS)
Replacement chrome hub caps,
4 Recent tyres,
NOS interior door furniture,
new heater control valve,
cigarette lighter.
New Indicator switch, (correct type for rebel)

I've always used this as a proper van and have put about 10,000 miles on it driving it all round the country, collecting everything from aga's to 3 phase welders and ford essex engines and it has always met every challenge I've thrown at it. I'm only selling as I own two other Rebels (and a variety of scimitars and need to reduce the size of the fleet.
Viewing and test driving more than welcome. Price £2600 ovno.
