What is it?
This is a Sabre Sprint kit car, based on mainly classic mini running gear. Designed and built in the 70/80s by a company in Wallsend, Newcastle upon tyne. It is a very rare edition, as its during the change from MK1 to MK2. It has the MK2 front with quad headlights but has the MK1 style opening glass hatch (mk2 version had a full hatch).
I have done a variety of work to get the car road legal including a disc brake conversion, stripping off the brake system to check, clean and adjust as needed. Replaced a radius arm and pin (recon kit), wheel bearings, balljoints, track rod ends and some rubber bushes (tie bar, bump stops etc). I took the car for MOT on 20/04/16 and it failed (only on rear imbalance) and was retested later that day. It would benefit from some TLC but could be a rolling project, would recommend tracking and a tune (carb/timing) to be used daily.
