Regrettably our awesome van has to go as we have another project to focus on.
We call her 'Fat Pat' and she's an '82 Bedford CF 350 Wadham Stringer coach built ambulance. She's got a 2.3 litre slant 4 engine with 73,949 on the clock coupled to a rare ZF 5 speed gearbox. Pat is registered as a motorhome so is cheap to insure!!! Currently she's declared SORN and has no MOT.
She's had an interesting past. The guy who owned the van before us had her for over 10 years and made yearly trips to Le Mans (she's covered in old stickers from all over Europe). The back was converted into a basic camper although we removed this with the intention of kitting it out for road trips. The back is now a blank canvas and a great space to convert (I'm 6ft and can stand easily). There's two skylights, original lighting that all works, ambulance overhead lockers and cupboard storage. The windows have the original factory tint. The cab is completely separate to the back and can be closed off with a sliding door and original blinds.
Good stuff...
She's amazing.
Runs and drives (although it could do with a tune up but sounds good with no odd noises)
NOS oil filter just fitted
Full oil change
NOS front brake shoes just fitted
Cab floor recently welded and new carpet installed
Loads of original ambulance features (map light, signs, switches etc)
NOS blue flashing light and MASSIVE 135db air horns included
Pretty rare ZF 5 speed gearbox
Registered as a camper so cheap to insure
Bad stuff...
No MOT
Needs a bloody good clean (the fibreglass comes up well however)
The bonnet is covered in filler and needs a good sand back and re-painting
Some welding to do in a few places
Brakes need adjusting (never did it after fitting new shoes)
Fibreglass repair work (it's showing it's age so there's cracks and chips dotted around)
The back needs fitting out
Needs new tires as these are only good for rolling around
Wiring is mental!!! Most stuff works but it needs a good going over.
Will need trailering away
We're looking for £700 but will listen to serious offers.
I've tried to list everything, good and bad, but please come and have a look if you're seriously interested as she is a huge project but could be ready for the Gathering!!!
Feel free to give me a ring or text if interested on 07784174296. Cheers, Ben
