Hello,
trying to work out what camshaft is in my 1600 pinto.
markings on the end of the cam shaft is HH z10632 and it's engraved with s2
inbetween lobes 1 and 2 is K355-c
anyone know the cam?
the ports looked a bit oval, but from what i can tell everything else standard. it has a 34 inch carb on it.
Thanks

I would guess at it being standard not many people bothered tuning the 1600 it was always easier to drop in a 2 litre. What's it going into?
There's plenty of info on porting the pinto head on the net and there's also the book on pinto tuning that has everything you ever need to know and more

Standard cams arn't allways marked ford, some have the oval cast into them most have made in USA cast into them, how many (if any) dimples are cast into it 1 or 2 ? any colour on it ? K355-c is the usuall casting mark for a standard cam but it could have been reground? if it was it will be marked on the rear end face (faces the bulkhead)

There wasn't any ovals and no dimples. There was two circles stamped 1 and 2 inside them. The end face had engraved S2 HH z10632

Google www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=106696They seem to think its a Kent Cams race jobby , but do not provide any evidence . They quote a gp1 cam but i cannot see any correlation between that spec and the number you have on yours ? Maybe worth giving them a email as it maybe true . If so its probably unsuitable for your engine but you may be able to flog it on.

Its probably just a pattern replacement. The GP1 Cam will require stiffer valve springs and uprated rockers, not sure if it would even work properly without? You would notice if it was an uprated cam on a standard carb as it will be lumpy as hell at idle.
