I’ve been running this Polo for the last 18 months or so as my daily driver and it has been faultless, handling my 50 mile daily commute with ease. It also took us on a 1000 mile round trip to the Isle of Mull in February without fault. It really is a great little car but I am regretfully selling as I need the funds to repair my T25.
In my ownership I have regularly serviced the car and replaced a few parts to ensure that it is reliable. These include
New fuel tank
New rear exhaust section
Discs and pads
Rear brake shoes and hand brake cable
General service – oil and filter/air filter/plugs/HT leads/distributer cap and rotor arm
Replacement radiator, thermostat and housing and G12 coolant
Front brake hoses
It is in standard form and is in good general condition. There are a few marks here and there that are commensurate with it’s age/mileage. There are a few scratches/blemishes in the paint, some light impact damage on the passenger side rear wheel arch and lacquer peel on the drivers side c post. There’s also some light rust spots along the sills and some corrosion on the passenger side door top. This makes it sound terrible but it presents really well and looks smart.
Here are a few pics, including some of the blemishes described above:
It runs/stops/starts as it should and is very economical to run, maintain and insure. It’s ideal as a starter classic or makes a great runaround whilst your project is off the road.
The car’s Mot’d till the end of November and is still taxed and insured so can be test driven. I’m located near Tadcaster, North Yorkshire and I’m looking for £695 ono.
