Hi,
Regretfully i am selling my much loved volvo. I spent a long time finding a good one before purchasing this specific model 6 months ago. The car was originally brought new as a company car, it was then shortly sold to a lady owner, who owned it for the duration of its life. I was obviously looked after and has many reciepts to prove it. This was the main reason for my purchase. It has done 148000 miles which is incredibly low for its year and still very young for a Volvo.
As you can see its a very clean car. It inevitably has a few scrapes and scratches that a car of this size and age will have but on the whole is very presentable. It doesn't have any rust on it which a few 940s suffer from. Its also an unusual colour which is very nice. The hard wearing leather interior still looks tip top and it has had a bootliner fitted from factory. It also has the volvo fitted mats.
It is the 2.3 hpt which pulls away nicely, it has the 4 speed with overdrive which works perfectly. When i brought it i did the cambelt, waterpump and a full service including all belts, filters, plugs and leads. I also found a NOS MAF as the old one was dirty and causing idle problems.
The MOT is valid until 11 dec.
The towbar was fitted by myself for a couple of jobs and i can remove it for the new buyer if required but its all wired in correctly, no scotchlocks used.
Ok so the bad bits. The speedo is temperamental. I have managed to track the fault to something behind the clocks. If i wiggle the connector the speedo will work for a bit then die so probably just needs taking apart and cleaning. The odometer still works so mileage is genuine. Just been using a satnav until i get a chance to have a look.
There is a tick from the exhaust havn't had chance to have a look at it as it still all works ok.
The sunroof doesn't open. It has aircon that still works so i get the feeling the previous owner used that instead of the sunroof so its probably never been opened in 20 years and a bit siezed.
It also has a small oil leak.
Other than that everything works, even the electric aerial.
I have been very honest about the car as its not concourse, as it has been used as a daily but this really is a good example of an appreciating classic. Its also unbelievably practical. I can confirm a wingback armchair fits in it, so does a bike without having to dissmantle it. Its load carrying capabilities are unbelievable.
PM if interested, viewing can be done after 6pm weekdays or all day weekends.
