*Edit: 24/4
I've clipped the neighbours wall and a big chunck of filler fell out of the lower 1/4. Pictures at bottom of thread.
Due to ongoing lack-of-work issues, I've had to decide between this and a roof over our heads can't afford to give it the work it needs.
It's a 1972 Plymouth Valiant with the near indestructible slant-six engine. 3.7 L and 3 speed column change auto box.
I bought it a short while ago with the intention of doing all the little jobs it needed and keeping it forever and ever. Sadly not to be.
Its mot'd until Janaury 2017, drives perfectly apart from the odd squeak and rattle and is very practical being about an inch bigger than a Mondeo mk3.
Good bits:
8 3/4 heavy duty axle, massive brakes. (export spec , started life in Holland)
Engine fully serviced, fluids , filters , gaskets etc
Repairs carried out to floorpans and trunk floor
Cd player
Heater fit to cook on
Starts and runs A1
Comes with loads of old paperwork and some spare parts
Pertronix electronic ignition fitted (no more points!)
Bad bits:
Has had a driveway respray by the previous owner, paint has dull patches, overspray and a few cracks/runs. It's thick enough to sand back and cut most of it out, a few bits of poorly prepped plod are evident too but it's solid.
Wind leaks around doors above 30mph
Hole in spare wheel well, no spare wheel. (no it didn't fall out!)
Trunk floor very tatty but solid, undersealed.
Front floorpans ground back and repaired but may require work in the future (all panels available and dirt cheap, £30 a side for pans)
Interior poor, needs mexican blanket. Have been quoted £300 to do the seats in flat vinyl and £100 to trim the split dash top.
Speedo cable occasionally drops out of speedo causing a clicking noise whilst driving
Original screenwash bottle turned to dust, new universal kit comes with car.
Car is in Nuneaton near J3 m6, can collect at station. PM me or call oh-seven-eight 25235252, Thanks. Dave.
