1991 Volkswagen Golf Gti 16v zx9r carbs Buxton £2000

Started life as a 1.6 driver
Completely replicated to a Gti including engine
1.8 16v with a 2.0 litre bottom end and Kawasaki zx9r bike carbs. Dyno'd by Ric Wood with a printout running 155bhp at the wheels. Very quick especially off the line, shoots awesome flames too. Revs off the limiter and speedo (120mph clocks)
Engines had new gaskets all round, new starter motor, fan and radiator. Probably a few more that I've forgotten about too.
MOT'd until November
Car is on 171k and the engines on 100k
Very solid car, no rust on it. Arches, tailgate, scuttle, sills etc are rust free.
On lowering springs and TSW multi spoke alloys
G60 Corrado steering wheel.

Bad points
Passenger door doesn't open from the outside properly, might get chance to sort before sale
Ever so slight blow in the exhaust flexi
Small oil leak that I'll try and sort before selling
Bumpers sit a bit wonky at the sides
Couple of age related dings as you'd expect
