I spent about an hour this evening cutting down some thinner batons which will act as an inner frame with a piece of polycarbonate sandwiched between the two. I’ve fixed one side in place for now and I’ll fix the other side in place once the polycarbonate is in place to retain it. It will all be painted in white before I put the polycarbonate in. The garage walls will also be painted white, and I’m replacing the up and over door with a roller door so that the motor is mounted above the cab will be gone too.

Ignis is on pick up duty, two 2400mm x 600mm x 18mm boards fit perfectly... I've gone for these instead of plasterboard as the only place I can find moisture resistant plasterboards at the moment either don't have pickup available due to lockdown or delivery only with a minimum order cost of £100. These are moisture resistant boards and available from the timber merchant opposite my work, skeleton staff rotas mean I can leave the car park and still have a space waiting for my return!

Thanks for the link above.
I do not go everywhere on the forum, so being as I am currently building the carport, and am near lighting, it will help me find the ideal solution
Loving your build as well, as usual.

No worries, I need to catch up on your thread - sadly photobucket is blocked so I read the words but not as fun without photos to back them up Not sure how weatherproof these would be for car ports unless you fitted them in the middle where rain can't get to them even in wind.

Another few hours in the garage yesterday afternoon. First I fitted some hooks to the wall to hang the spare windscreen and rear glass on as the windscreen has been on the garage floor since I took it out of donor truck 2 and the rear glass has been on the shelf I needed to remove to fit the board on the partition frame. I need to move the top hook down a little bit but I took the lazy option and re used an existing rawlplug instead of going to get the taller ladders from the shed to reach to drill a new hole. Next I adjusted the angle of the board on the inner side slightly as it wasn’t completely straight when I fitted it on Thursday night, then I fitted the offcut of the board as a shelf along the bottom edge... Then I painted most but not all of the wood with ronseal ash woodstain which went on nicely but the chipboard was thirstier than I expected so I ran out and need to buy another tin before I complete the other side and paint the bottom edge and pieces that will hold the polycarbonate in place. A few hours later after it had dried I fitted my players pablo banner... Then this morning I’ve relocated the light at this end of the garage so that’s central to the new area rather than using the holes that the neon tubes were fitted in, I need to move some stuff before I can fix the wiring tight again since it’s relocation.

I spent most of the day clearing out the garage, some into a new home in the shed and some in the utility waiting until I’ve painted before I can move them back in. Rather than moving the truck out I decided to cover the cab in two layers of dust sheets as well as taping two layers of dust sheets over the partition frame. I ran out of time for painting as well as clearing and masking so that’s tomorrow night’s task.

Last night I spent a good few hours painting... It looked perfect after two coats on the ceiling and one coat on the walls but tonight I’ve fitted the light again and it’s revealed areas of patchiness but most of it will be covered by a black cabinet that is going to fill most of the alcove, and I’ll get some slimline black cabinets for the other walls to contain various bottles of detailing products and paint cans etc. I might do a second coat another day (read probably never will be it’s a good enough job to remove all reflectivity in front of the Acty).

See... Rusty having a nose before coming back in... Due to the sliding puzzle of life the shed is now a complete mess but I’ll sort that out when we need the lawnmower again in spring.

What do you think of them ? Excellent cheers mate. Pushing them onto the clips is a bit fiddly up a ladder on the ceiling but easier than fitting normal ceiling lights and the rest are going on the wall any way.

Waiting for delivery... Arrived... Lowered on its back onto my dollies... Back upright... Truck in the rain watching on... That was lucky, I did measure in advance but it seems slightly bigger than the website said, maybe that was internal dimensions.... Tight fit (that’s what she said)... In place, needs levelling on one side I think and bolting to the wall to secure it before I fill it up... There’s just the spare engine (1 of 2) that i need to find space for now, I’ll probably build a timber frame over the pallet to store the two engines on and staple tarpaulin over them and keep them in the garden...
