I decided to try and find further details of the original dealer mainly because I wanted the contact details to help design a replica dealer sticker and tax disc holder. I bought a random football programme from a 1982-83 Hyde United game and as luck would have it within the pages was the below advert...

I had a Saturday job there around that time valetting cars, used to do the odd week during the school holidays. Boston Motors moved about 1/2-mile away to Market St and is now Stoneacre and sells Fiat and Citroen cars. The old site in your pics is now a Iceland supermarket. Edit:noted the last pic states that already, the building facing where the red car is parked is Hyde Lads club, gone now thanks to the local clowns, sorry council!

Cheers for that, any idea when it moved to Market Street? Presumably later than 1985 as they only built the building in my photo in 1981?

I think about 1986/87 may have even been slightly earlier but definitely not later than 87.

So Ethan decided to help (extend his bedtime curfew) ... Ignore the ride height for now... Up to now I've been really torn between a Japanese race truck look and a builders van look. The plan was to fit this pair on the front and banded steels on the rear but hide them with extended side panels. After seeing them on both front and rear I think I'm going to get another pair made and go for a kei racer look with the alloys in summer and banded steels for a builders van look for winter. Nothing else will change on the van between the two looks - just the wheels. Yes it's got dents here and there but maybe I'm just rubbish at racing and keep hitting crash barriers

I don't find the ride height on those wheels offensive. Lows are not required in this instance.

Discovered that the flat wheel centres fit on the rear hub so I debadged them and fitted them on. Chrome valve covers and dust caps on the way. I'll get the centres polished instead of brushed to fit in with the flat disc look.

New struts arrived. They fit. Now I really do have to tackle that rusty bolt! That's the only thing in the way of the truck getting to rrg! (The only known thing) I can go lower - the only restriction is whether tyre will catch the arches over bumps now which is how I like it - no restrictions in strut body length or spring length

Rear still at standard height.
I could do with spraying the lower part of doors and front panel mint instead of black as they're hiding the lowness a bit! X

Some side panels and a rear valance would help too but might mess with its proportions in a bad way. Looks good so far, mind.
