MK2 escort 1/4 front bumpers in black would look nice on the front .......only my opinion though. really like this motor Cheers The biggest catch with corner bumpers is that the doors are pretty much at the front so any wrap around bumpers would need to be split and bolted to the door so would look odd. They don't go that far round the corners. I think it could work if it were something you would consider. If not, crack on, as you were!

I lost a hub cap on the Ignis so running bare wheels for a while. And also did a mock-up of the interior with peppermint paint to check it matches the beige interior ok... Think it looks good.

i really like that interior, especially the speaker pods, thats pretty bloody cool to be honest. as for the bumpers, you could just mount them further out from the body using spacers or similar. could go the fully monty and get 4 cibbie (or similar) spots on the front too in the middle

Got the car from 105 bhp at the crank to 152 at the wheels.nitrous going on next.....if it ain't broke, keep bolting on go faster parts until it is........ www.fordgranadaclubuk.freefo.de

those speaker pods are pretty cool, and i see you have a mint head bag, was it a different colour before or am i imagining things? Can the speaker pods be turned so they are facing the right/same way?
Now, your challenge. Its cool. Undoubtedly so. Can it out-cool this?

Cheers, passenger speaker rotates around towards the driver but the driver side is fixed due to lack of access however the sound just travels up and deflects nicely off the windscreen. The head bag was upgraded in about August if I remember rightly - i wanted a new bag to suit the new interior. Now in terms of that video that’s exactly the look I’m purposely avoiding. Don’t get me wrong that look can be cool but personally I think that whole Japanese drift truck has been so overplayed. I’m going for a much more classic styling and discrete bodywork.

The Ignis looks much better on its steel wheels now it’s been washed, well it actually got dirty again before I could get a photo in the daylight! Lighter nights will be here before we know it.

I thought 27 horse power was bad enough but 1 horse power is just crazy. I might attract some interest at car shows if i turned up being towed by a horse though.

I’ve been looking at this photo ... And I’m thinking I like the standard look too much to go with the black centre bar. Probably will just get the eyebrows sprayed black... Another little doodle... Nothing to report on the Ignis but it ticked over to 5,000 miles on the way home...

I think it looks better like that, the black bar was good but a little full-on. Almost be a shame to loose the chrome details on the headlight shades, they really make them stand out to me. Are you going to fill the 2 bits just above the bumper?
And your Ignis has a minty ring on the speedo. Amazing.

I could keep the chrome actually and just paint the yellow, the wheels will still be polished so would tie in with those. Funnily enough I hadn’t noticed the minty ring until Ethan asked if I’d painted it mint two weeks ago.

id body colour the chrome on the lamp eye lids and leave the rest yellow. what about cutting the letters and numbers out of front bumper and just having the white reflective square with number/letter shaped holes. youd have to paint the panel behind the bumper black tho. thatd be different yet subtle

I think I’ll just have a smooth plain bumper, hopefully lower profile and mount reg plate lower and offset.

chop the centre section out or easy way paint it? This is how it looks without a bumper... So if I’m going bumper-less I’d smooth the whole area rather than half of it, body colour painted bumpers don’t work for me I’m afraid.

Back on it... 09:46 > Start of day... 10:11am > driver side Schweppes crate arch removed... 10:18am > Driver side lower panels removed... 10:51am > Passenger side Dayla pop crate arch removed... 10:58am > The acty's done a woopsie on the garage floor, I'm putting this down to a split in the sump somewhere as there were no traces of a leak when it was parked up on my sloped drive, so only leaks when the oil is level at it's lowest point in the sump. Maybe... 11:15am > Reg plate, and tail light holders and lenses removed (reg lights need a 7mm socket which I gave up looking for) ... 11:54am > Barrel removed, tool box removed, unloaded, fired up and moved out of garage... 12:53pm > Moved all the stuff that I'd removed from the bed back into the garage, along with the random tools and screws that were scattered across the bed, and then turned it around on the drive and then the seats could be removed... Just the seat belt, heater unit, and fire extinguisher bracket to go, and a bit of cling filming weather wrap, before she's ready!
