Love these little trucks. Heal up and have fun. Cheers, me too, I had to get one out of my system and it feels just the right size to keep on top of the maintenance.

Three original Acty steel wheels came up on eBay yesterday only a couple of hours after I'd placed an order for a pair of custom wheels. So I decided to make an offer which I won. I've decided to get a pair banded to fit to the rear and fit the custom wheels to the front. Obviously they won't match but I don't mind things like that and current plans are to get a deeper set of rear side panels fabricated so most of the rear wheels will be covered up.

Actually allowing for tyre wall depth the whole of the rear wheel will be covered up so even better

Just reading you post about wheel threads and wondered what you were doing. Seeing as you have the adaptors it might be worth considering 12" Metro wheels as they have far more offset then Mini ones. A lot of aftermarket Mini wheels stick out more then they need to anyway, even a standard 10" or 12" Mini wheel might be a better starting point, depends exactly what you have planned.

Basically the mini wheels are fitted via 25mm adaptor s but I want to get rid of those wheels and the adaptors and fit specific 4x120 wheels directly to the original wheel studs.
I suspect that the wheel studs have been cut down though so I'm trying to establish if it's safe to use those or replace every wheel stud which will be another £120 plus a hell of a lot of time.

Ah, I see. Hopefully they haven't. The steel wheels aren't that thick and it looks like you have about 20mm left.

Wheels have arrived and these are the best two, some slight surface rust which won't be a problem, apart from that they're in good condition and some of the marks on them is just dirt. Close-ups of one - 3.5"x10" manufactured 14/07/1982. Will be banded to 5" wide and fitted to the rear.

The sun was shining and we were in the garden any way so before you know it I've sprayed down the wheels with kitchen cleaner left them to soak whilst having an ice lolly, scrubbed them up with a washing up sponge and got Ethan to hose them down. (He likes water just as much as sand and slightly behind trains - combining all three is his ultimate pastime) Any way... Three dirty wheels Three clean wheels, rust levels increase from left to right ... Close-ups... This pair will get banded and used on the rear... Then Ethan said he wanted to watch me fit them, obviously I didn't want to let him down So set mini minty up in the bed... And Mrs minty up in the bus... And time to get down to work... Adaptor off... Front fitted, flat tyre adds to the shabby chic charm Rusty rear fitted... Let the Angels shine down their approval... The money shot... I know I'm going against all RR virtues by returning things to standard but the tuck is needed before I can sort out the lows. Hopefully I've sourced another steel too so I can sort lows all round at the same time.

Just had another "would you sell your van?" door knocker.
This time he knew his stuff and offered a fair £1500.
The answer was still no.

After picking up the "wd40 to clean residue off Perspex windows" tip on RR recently I finally got around to giving it ago.... Before - Outside done but still scuffs remaining - So onto the inside and looky looky what do we have here?! The protective film was still on the inside of the rear window. - That's more like it - While i was in the cab I discovered that i could actually operate the pedals fully despite my ankle limitations so tried it out in the Elgrand and all good in there too!

Pressing the pedal once or twice may be fine, but I imagine 30 min might be another story. So... did the WD40 trick work?

Having a test drive today to see how I get on And yes the wd40 worked after holding the cloth over the areas to let it soak in and then rubbing over the residue until it worked free
