Tyre sorted! Leaky valve! Who wants a set of lotus wheels? I’ll keep one as a spare in the boot to save having to remove adaptors at the roadside to fit the standard Citroen spare but the other four will be up for sale soon.

I always thought 4x114 was such a random size but in recent years I have had loads of cars with them on which is pretty surprising. Civic aerodeck, skyline, almera. It always seems to be on cars that you automatically assume are 4x100 as well. I bought some ats cups for the almera assuming it was 4x100 only to find out as I was putting them on.

I tend to find that cars / wheels play the Sod’s law game and have the opposite PCD to what you want. I.e you find some cool wheels but they don’t fit what car you have or you find a cool car and you have cool wheels but the wrong fitment. It’s my own fault really as I’ve had wheels of every pcd going at some point but I never have the advance financial planning to just keep them for use on the next car. I always have to sell them on to pay for something or other than my existing cars need.

The 4.5 PCD is quite a standard old size, maxis, allegros, princess, A60, and many other share it. This is why I can get away with having a BMC rosette on my Cube, which is also 4x114.3 Geek mode:- disengaged

Thanks for that nugget of information!

Had a busy day today doing the jobs that need to be done in between working on actual cars. First I used my old garage door to make a roof to shelter the space between my shed and fence in the back garden... I then put all of the loose Acty spares from the donor truck in the plastic chest and the engines onto the pallet... Next plan was to strip all the tyres off my wheels but after doing one spare lotus wheel and one Acty steel I decided to just take them to the tyre place another day. The full ad is in the classifieds And now the garden is clear! A bit of MOT prep to come for the Acty next. Ready for a show season of sorts? ...

Went to the tip... Saw someone wheeling a bmx to the scrap metal skip and asked if I could have it. I’ve already got roof bars on the way and I’m planning to get bike mounts with my five years at work anniversary vouchers so a free bike will help to complete things. I need to look into brake costs but should work out less than a bike I was planning to buy any way, and it feels less of a dilemma stripping an old bike down to paint minty compared to a brand new bike.

Colour matched to the Cactus yea? Yep, I spotted the mint green colour in the Montana white when you sprayed your Mazda so think that will be close enough rather than buying Citroen paint and doing separate lacquer.

Just get a pair of brake levers for V brakes, connect that dangly cable to the rear brake and jobs a goodun surely? Don't need a front brake for a show bike

I took Rusty for a game of ball at Cannock Chase after work during the golden hour and couldn’t resist a quick photo. Bike almost stripped down, I need to get a chain removal tool - I tried a hammer and a punch to no avail. I also need to rummage through various places I keep scarcely used tools to see if I have a 32mm open ended spanner to remove the pedal set. In Acty news I’ll be asking a favour on Saturday as my Acty has been accepted into the online vote show and shine for the NEC Restoration Show.

Since you have 4×108 I would love to see you try somethin like 17 inch tsw blade or venom for ultimate shock and awe. For me those wheels from an 80s kit car maker ain't quite as shock an awe. My personal feelings of course

My personal feelings of course The trouble with shock and awe is that ugly wheels will always be ugly wheels. People on the internet might be like "oh you're brave using venoms" but it'd be me looking back at the car when I park thinking I wish I had nice wheels and I'd only be shocking myself. I build cars that look nice to me not to get a reaction, good or bad, off others.

That bike was a lovely score. Looking forward to its changes. Your spare set of wheels were/are so tempting, but must resist. In the mean time...... I can only melt at this photo of Rusty.

Cheers grizz The wheels are provisionally sold now any way so no worries. Excluding the company car, I have 7 sets of wheels on site, and one car (truck) that actually goes. Need I say more??
