A weekend spent fighting suspension in order to refit standard parts again. Number plates off, the easy part... Rear suspension standard again, also easy .... Then came 4 hours of struggle, couple of hours each side trying to squeeze the spring into position with the aid of a trolley jack and then get the hub carrier into position to get the bolts through into the strut. I do have spring compressors and they came out for the near side but didnāt really help much any way and I trust them less as the spring is more free to fire off than just knocking the jack over in the above example. The next photo was with offside complete but before nearside was as I had to revisit that yesterday but didnāt take photos after that point... Since then Iāve also removed stickers and fitted original number plates. Wheels are being swapped over today with new tyres going on the front. Good job too as the front toyo tyres are completely bald after 6,000 miles of driving?! Itās even wear too and I hardly drive like a demon. Very odd. Iāll be investigating tyres that have a longer lifespan when Iām in the market again. Hub caps and a wash and sheās good to go... Even Mrs Minty said last night how much better it looked low on the alloys. Nearly there... Iāve just got to refit an upside down rear spring on the nearside and wash it before itās ready to go. The hold up before selling will be the replacement v5 with the original registration back on instead of the private registration. Waiting........ Are we there yet?/ Looking forward to a new character joining.

I'm really hoping it's the same car I keep looking at. Is it in Driffield?

grizz - I'm waiting for ignis V5 back with the original reg number on before I can chop that in so probably be between Christmas and New Year now. joem83 - Not in Driffield, it's reserved to me currently so it's no longer visible on the trading sites, it's not so rare to be the only one about though.

Well done. Looking forward to the next episode. Need to speak to you about moving license plates about, want to move the plate off the Galaxy onto xxxxxx Cheers. Thereās two dvla web pages open 7am - 7pm only, one page is to remove plate from vehicle and one is to add plate to the next vehicle. Remove reg - www.gov.uk/personalised-vehicle-registration-numbers/take-private-number-offAssign reg - www.gov.uk/personalised-vehicle-registration-numbers/keep-or-assign It costs Ā£80 to remove, payable with a card online when you complete form to remove from vehicle and then free to apply it to your next vehicle. I completed the removal form on Friday 7am and received the new V5 on the original reg in Wednesday morning post. 3-5 working days is quoted online so I was impressed with the time along with Christmas delays. You get the removal reference instantly so if you already have your next vehicle you can apply the reg to the next vehicle straight away but even the paper copy of that arrived Thursday so less than a week any way. When you fill in the online form you need to be in a position to tell your insurance and swap the plates over straight away - it tells you the reg thatās been applied to the vehicle with an official document to print off so you can get plates made up but in my case it was the return to the standard reg so I already had those plates that i removed two years ago.

Love it š Split fold rear seats as well!
This is one of my favourite wheel designs as well. Wanted a set for Mrs family wagon but they are still quite expensive. Would love to see them with low pros on something small.
Also one of the few new cars (regardless of price point) that I actually found interesting enough to desire.
Glad you posted this, one less thing to keep secret š¤£

1000% winner.
That is so you.
Besides the colour, it is just not boring.
Congratulations.
But I suspect this will be the first car ever that you cannot do a thing to........l

Would love to see them with low pros on something small. Also one of the few new cars (regardless of price point) that I actually found interesting enough to desire. Glad you posted this, one less thing to keep secret š¤£ Yes the original reviews from first release really complained about the lack of split rear seat option - I wouldnāt have bought one without a split seat so good job they changed their mind on that. The wheels are probably my favourite oem option especially in gloss black but Iāll only keep them on for the life of the tyres before changing to something else. Probably a year off yet. This list of interesting modern cars gets thinner each year but the dawn of electric might make things more interesting over the next few years but letās not start another ev debate in my build thread!

I do like the look of the original Cactus. Well chosen! Oh yes had to be the original cactus, the newer one is too diluted although it did see the return of the factory fit hydraulics suspension which would have been nice and saved me from going my own lowering route.

As for not doing anything to it... The plans hatched and schemed before I even found a car. Thatās the only reason I moved on from the Ignis. I planned that in lockdown v1 madness and once Iād realised the vision lockdown v2 madness sparked the bonfire of designs for the cactus customisation.
