Peugeot 205 Diesel 1996 P reg
£800
Phone: 07840009206
Sadly, my rare P reg 205 is for sale. I have owned the car since 2013 and it has been 100% reliable and extremely cheap to run, returning circa 55MPG. I have used it mostly for motorway driving between Manchester and Leeds or Leeds and Nottingham. The 205 also completed a round trip to Le Mans 24 Hours in 2014 without any problems and for about £80 in diesel.
Facts:
MOT until 25 July 2016
Approximately 132,500 miles
1.8 straight D (no turbo)
V5C in my name
Has power steering (rare)
Is a P reg (cool)
205 GTI Pepperpot alloy wheels with all weather rubber.
Service history:
26/07/2015- New O/S wishbone fitted at 130,736;
12/07/2015- New front brake discs and pads fitted at 130,668 miles;
16/11/2014- New O/S front wheel bearing fitted at 126,200 miles;
08/06/2014- Full service (oil and filters) at 121,160;
07/06/2014- tracking set up after fitting of new track rod ends;
06/06/2014- New track rod ends fitted at 121,160;
18/08/2013- New OSF brake calliper, fluid change, fuel filter change 114,800;
27/06/2013- Oil service at 113,500;
05/11/2012- Oil service at 110,750;
19/10/2012- New timing belt/cam belt fitted at 110,420.
There is a load more history with the car, but that is the most recent snippet. As you can see, the timing belt was done about 20k ago so has loads of time left in it.
Bad points:
Lacquer coat has “gone” on the roof and bonnet. There is a patch of misty lacquer on the right side of the boot;
Starter motor has stuck once or twice;
Power steering belt squeals like a gerbil when moved to full lock when cold;
Rear brake pipes were advised on last MOT, haven’t got around to sorting them;
Bit of grotty underseal on a small patch of surface rust above NS rear window;
Head lining grubby, steering wheel looks well used (because it is).
If you’re looking for a cheap to use, simple to fix car then this is for you. It doesn’t have anything electronic (in terms of extras) apart from the rear-heated screen, therefore, it is enormously easy to work on and parts are very very cheap and widely available. It does come with a period looking black Panasonic CD tuner if I can find it.
The 205 is located in Nottingham and is currently SORN because my insurance expired and I don’t know what to have next, just yet. I Could be tempted to PX with a blue 106 Rallye or anything mildly interesting or running on LPG.
Don’t bother offering me £250, just save your insults for someone you don’t like.
