The car is a 1995 Version 2 STI Type RA..............For those that don't know about this model, it was Subaru's homologated car. The RA part stands for "Race Altered" and with that comes a lightweight model weighing in at 1200kg which is helped by windup windows, no ABS, no front fog's and no sound deadening.
Factory performance figures for this model are 275ps / 235 ft/lb torque.
The RA model also benefits from a factory roof vent and an adjustable centre diff(DCCD) which is adjusted using a roller switch near the handbrake. DCCD stands for "Driver Control Centre Differential" What this does is allow the centre differential locking to be dialed in and adjust the handling. It adjusts both an electromagnetic multi-plate transfer clutch and mechanical locking of a LSD to distribute torque to the front and rear wheels....With the roller switch fully forward it locks the diffs 50-50 but rolled all the way back offers a 65-35 rear wheel bias with other bias settings between the two points.
Now the bad part.....The bottom end has just started to knock although it does still run and still has an MOT until October.
The car belonged to a very good friend of mine who passed away a few years ago, since then it has been used by his elderly uncle who just used to potter about until the bottom end started knocking a couple of months ago.....Since then it was been stood up until it was trailered to my house a few nights ago. The car still runs and still has a current MOT until October but would obviously need to be taken away on a trailer.
There are no serious modifications on the car, just a HKS exhaust with a decat, a DV, a crappy aftermarket air filter and what looks like a set of lowered springs. Inside is stock apart from a Momo race wheel, a couple of gauges, a Kenwood headunit and some parcel shelf speakers.......It does have some Subaru 4 pot brakes upfront which is a nice upgrade over the standard sliding calipers.
The body....The O/S rear arch is showing a small scab which looks like its were the paint has been broken yet the N/S looks fine. The rest of the car looks pretty straight but obviously it is 15 years old!.....It is pretty dirty where is't been sat for a while.
The car is being sold as a project so please bear this in mind, it's not being a sold as a minter. I've not driven the car because of the engine condition so anyone who views the car can carry out their own full inspection.
The mileometer is showing 88706 which I believe to be still in KM's, it hasn't been converted. The only paper work I have is the V5 and 5 old MOT's, although I do have here two keys and two alarm fobs.
Looking at the old MOT's, it has covered roughly 18000 km's since 2010 and has had 3 owners in this country.
The price - I'm basing this not only on current prices of Classic Impreza's but sort after Classic Impreza's like the STI RA...For that reason the price is £2.5k firm which makes it probably the cheapest V2 STI RA in the country(If you can find another for sale) at present even with the bottom end issue.
If it doesn't sell at that price I fully intend to tuck it away and sit on it for while until prices climb even more.
These are the only photos I have at present. I did intend to clean it before advertising but the weather doesn't look great over the Easter weekend so I'll go with these for the time being.
